Dallas Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

A 4th of July ride in Eastern Oregon turned deadly for one Oregon man.

(WASCO COUNTY, Ore.) - A Harley-Davidson rider was killed in a crash Saturday, July 4th, near milepost 38 on Hwy 197 in Wasco County.

The riders were slowing to turn left onto Juniper Flat Rd., however, he was apparently unable to stop and crashed, avoiding the other motorcycles.

Salem Man Arrested After Crashing Vehicle While Trying To Elude Officers

He reached speeds in excess of 90 mile-per-hour going north out of the city.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - As the officers attempted to contact the male, identified as Brandon Franklin Pruett, he sped away. The Officers witnessed Pruett commit several traffic violations and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.

According to Police, Pruett turned north from SE 32nd St onto Hwy 101 and accelerated as he fled north-bound in an attempt to elude the officers.

Woman Arrested on Manslaughter Charges after Deadly Crash

Krista Ashley is being held on $500,000 bond.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - On March 5, 2020, 33-year old Krista Ashley was taken into custody and is now being held in the Yamhill County Jail, awaiting her court hearing.

Ashley faces three counts of Manslaughter (first degree), Assault (second degree), Assault (third degree), Reckless driving and Driving under the influence.

Salem Police Investigate Fatal Hit and Run Crash on McGilchrist SE

Late Tuesday at 11:30 pm a man walking his bicycle was hit and killed by a vehicle, which did not stop.

(SALEM, Ore.) - It appears the male had been walking his bike along the shoulder of McGilchrist, near 22nd St SE, prior to being struck by a vehicle, which left the scene without stopping.

Investigators had McGilchrist shut down for several hours while they investigated the fatal crash.

Oregon Expects Snow Above 500`

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The cold winds of winter are blowing our way. The National Weather Service reports that heavy snow is expected to blanket much of the Northwest, beginning later today. A series of storm systems will bring heavy mountain snow, locally heavy rain, strong winds, and hazardous travel conditions.

SW Oregon Expects Historic Storm

Expect delays, poor driving conditions in SW Oregon

(MEDFORD, Ore.) - Drivers should expect damaging winds, especially on the south coast and blizzard conditions with low snow levels in the mountain passes. “If people can leave today, now is the time,” said ODOT District Manager Jerry Marmon. “Travel Tuesday into Wednesday is forecast to be the worst, with conditions improving for Thanksgiving Day.”

South coast wind gusts of more than 75 mph are predicted. Six to 12 inches of snow are expected to fall on the I-5 corridor in Oregon and higher amounts in the Cascade passes.

U.S. 20 Closing Early Saturday Morning for Truck Recovery

Schedule change: Road closed at milepost 15 between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.

(EDDYVILLE, Ore.) - U.S. 20 Newport-Corvallis Highway will be closed eight miles west of Eddyville, near milepost 15, Saturday morning (Nov. 9) from 1 a.m. until about 5 a.m.

The closure time was changed to accommodate traffic from the Friday night Oregon State football game.
