Search-and-Rescue Teams Recover Two after Fatal Fall along Pacific Crest Trail

Family notifications have been made, and the two victims can now be identified.

(CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore.) - Pacific Crest Trail Last Saturday evening about 5:45, passing hikers called 911 to report that they had seen the bodies of two women who appeared to have fallen approximately 150 feet off a cliff, about 6 miles northwest of Timberline Lodge, along the Pacific Crest Trail.

At 11:10 p.m., AMR RAT reached the location where the two victims had fallen and confirmed that both women were deceased at the scene.

Recovery Efforts Underway for Missing Swimmer near Sauvie`s Island

Death by drowning claims another Portlander

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Walton Beach Oregon Walker and a group of friends had been on a boat that was anchored approximately 30 feet off the shore, according to investigators. The group had jumped into the water and began to swim toward the shore when Walker began to struggle.

The investigation is ongoing and alcohol use is being considered as a possible factor.

Triple Fatality on Hwy 20 in Lincoln County

The tragedy closed the highway for six hours.

(LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore.) - triple fatal crash Oregon State Police responded to a report of a 3-vehicle head on collision on HWY 20 around MP 31 in Lincoln County Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2017) afternoon about 5:00.

For unknown reasons, an eastbound 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup crossed the center line and crashed head on into the Chevy. The Honda was unable to stop and crashed into the other 2 vehicles and the Dodge caught fire and quickly became fully engulfed.

More motorcycles are out when the sun is shining. Be extra careful!

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - fatal motorcycle crash At least two fatal motorcycle accidents occurred in the Willamette Valley yesterday. Just in Benton County, these two crashes claimed three lives.

The first was on Highway 20 at Conifer Blvd., near Corvallis. Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff's Office are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle fatal motor vehicle crash involving a pickup and motorcycle .

Two-Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of a Salem Man on Highway 20

Even in the best of conditions, driving can be risky.

(LINN COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal crash investigation A Salem man was killed yesterday when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into the side of a Kenworth log truck.

Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report at about 10:30 a.m. of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near milepost 34.5 (east of Sweet Home).

Long time Lincoln City Businessman Found Dead

The city of Lincoln City and all of Oregon mourn the passing of a good man.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Gary Ellingson Lincoln City Police received a call about 8:30 Monday night requesting assistance at the entrance to The Villages property at the end of NW Voyage Avenue in Lincoln City.

The caller disconnected before 911 Dispatchers were able to obtain any further information. The deceased person has been identified as 66-year old Gary G. Ellingson, of Lincoln City.

Fatal Paragliding Accident at Cape Lookout State Park

July began with tragedy at a favorite Oregon State Park.

(TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore.) - Cape Lookout Oregon According to the information received, a para-glider had launched from a cliff overlooking the beach and rapidly descended to the rocks below.

Emergency responders were unable to reach the man from the shore. The US Coast Guard launched a helicopter and a motor life boat from the Tillamook Bay Station.

Polk County Man Killed In Highway 99W 3-Vehicle Crash

JULY 3, 2017: Highway 99W was closed for about six hours

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - fatal crash A 2003 Pontiac Sunfire was northbound on Highway 99W and was slowing or had stopped to make a left turn onto SW Durham Lane. Behind the Pontiac was a 1993 Ford F250 pickup towing a small utility trailer, which was unable to stop and rear-ended the Pontiac.

The Pontiac was spun into the southbound lane where it was struck broadside by a southbound 2007 Toyota Sequoia. After the collision the Ford left the highway, struck a parked car in a driveway, then a house.
