The pedestrian ran into high speed, freeway traffic

(CENTRAL POINT, Ore.) - A 2017 Freightliner towing a box trailer, operated by 52-year old Steve Pemberton, of Red Bluff, California, was traveling southbound on Interstate 5, in the right lane, when he observed a person run onto the highway.

The truck driver was unable to avoid colliding with the pedestrian.

Fatal Crash into Santiam Canal on Three Lakes Road

The Canal was dug by hand in the 1870s as a transportation route to move goods from the eastern part of the valley to the "Port of Albany" on the Willamette River.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports that a crash on Three Lakes Road today has resulted in a fatality.

The investigation reveals 20-year old Jonathan Alexzander Houser, from Albany, was the operator and sole occupant of a 2004 Dodge Neon and was traveling south on Three Lakes Road, when for unknown reasons, drove off the roadway.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - According to Troopers on scene, a 2005 Jeep Liberty, operated by 19-year old Madelyn West of Beaverton was traveling east on Hwy 18. West's vehicle crossed into the west bound lane of travel colliding head-on with a 2000 GMC Envoy.

The GMC was operated by 68-year old Bertha Martinez, of Dayton.

A Transcontinental Western Airlines (TWA) Douglas DC-3 slammed into a mountain about 35 miles from Vegas, taking with it, Lombard, her mother, press agent and passengers including 15 US servicemen. Nobody ever figured out what happened.

(CURRY COUNTY, Ore.) - While out training, a U.S. Coast Guard Sector North Bend MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew overheard a radio conversation between an 80-year-old male pilot and Federal Aviation Administration Seattle personnel.

The pilot was reporting he had lost vision in his right eye and was signaling an emergency code today.

Law Enforcement Investigating Fatal Crash Following Reported Kidnapping

Alleged kidnapping ends in two deaths.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - Just as Ontario Police arrived on scene, the suspect, 49-year old Anthony Wayne Montwheeler, of Nampa, Idaho, fled in a 2014 black Dodge pickup.

Officers received information that there was an adult female, 40-year old Anita S. Harmon, of Weiser, Idaho, who was being held against her will, in the pickup. Officers pursued the suspect in the city then traveled south onto Highway 201.

UPDATED: Landslide Closes Hwy 20 West of Toledo

UPDATE: Corvallis-Newport Highway is now expected to remain closed near Toledo until midday tomorrow (Friday).

(TOLEDO, Ore.) - A landslide has closed U.S. 20 one mile west of Toledo at milepost 5.5.

The Corvallis-Newport Highway remains closed and is expected to stay that way until at least into the evening as the slide involves approximately 4000 yards of material and at least 60 trees.

Springfield Man Killed in I-5 Roll Over Crash

(DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.) - About 2:30 a.m. this morning, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 112 (north of Myrtle Creek). Upon arriving on scene, emergency personnel could not locate the driver or occupants.

Two adult females were soon after located deceased on the river bank below the bridge where the crash had occurred.

Violent Crash on I-84 Near Cascade Locks

(CASCADE LOCKS, Ore.) - According to Oregon State Police, Troopers responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash westbound on I-84 near milepost 44, which is near Cascade Locks at approximately 1:00PM today.

The vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, had crashed into the center concrete barrier while negotiating a curve, crossed both lanes of the interstate and crashed through the guardrail and down a wooded ravine.
