Man Charged With Murder After Mass Shooting in Portland

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Four others were hospitalized with injuries.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - shooting Multnomah County DA Mike Schmidt announced nine charges filed against 43-year old Benjamin Smith including one count of Murder in the Second Degree with a firearm, four counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a firearm, two counts of Assault in the first degree with a firearm and two counts of Assault in the Second Degree with a firearm.

DA Schmidt also sought and received a warrant for Smith’s arrest.

Hwy 211 Crash Claims Life of Motorcycle Rider

An improperly executed left turn is apparently the cause.

(CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal crash A 51-year old Harley rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. An improperly executed left turn is being investigated as a contributing factor to the collision.

Hwy 211 was closed for two hours.

Oregon Firefighter Austin Smith Memorial Service

The memorial service is this Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Rodeo grounds.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Firefighter Austin Smith On Thursday, February 3rd, the St. Paul Fire District as well as other mutual aid partners, responded to a reported barn fire at Champoeg Creek and McKay Rd.

During firefighting efforts, an explosion occurred severely injuring Austin Smith, who was preparing for exterior defensive fire operations. Firefighter Smith died as a result of his injuries.
