One Killed and Two Injured in Shooting Near South Salem High School

Two in custody after deadly shooting.

(SALEM, Ore.) - There was a shooting today near Salem’s Bush Pasture Park. The park is just a few blocks from South Salem High School.

At about 1:45 p.m., officers were called to the area of High and Leffelle Streets SE on the report of a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located three male victims with gunshot wounds.

Fatal Crash on Hwy 20 Near Newport

Oregon Hwy 20 was partially closed for five hours.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A two-vehicle crash on Hwy 20 near Newport that claimed one life was reported just before 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2023.

A RAV4 was eastbound when it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a westbound Toyota Tacoma.

McMinnville Man Faces Federal Charges For Selling Fentanyl, Resulting in Death

All seven individuals consumed and overdosed on the fentanyl.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - According to court documents, on February 10, 2023, Donnahoo sold powdered fentanyl he claimed was cocaine to an individual at a residence in McMinnville for $100.

One person tested the powder using fentanyl “test kit,” but it gave a (wrongly) negative result.

Armed Robbery Suspect Killed by Salem Police

No officers were injured in the incident.

(SALEM, Ore.) - An armed robbery suspect was shot and killed this morning by Salem Police.

The suspect crossed the street to the NAPA auto parts store parking lot where he was confronted by officers and gunfire was exchanged. The suspect was struck and killed in the shootout.

Oregon Recreational Boating Fatalities Down in 2022 but Remain High

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Oregon State Marine Board says 2022 was a safer boating year than 2020 and 2021, but the number of fatalities is still high.

2022 ended with 16 boating fatalities.

Drunk Driver Sentenced in the Deaths of Four People

Rodriguez had no prior criminal convictions.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 25-year old Enrique Rodriguez Jr. was sentenced to 310 months^[1] in prison yesterday by Marion County Circuit Court Judge Lindsey Partridge for his role in the fatal DUII incident on March 27, 2022, that killed four people and seriously injured two more.

When tested, Rodriguez’s blood alcohol content was .224%.

Driver Dies in Single-Vehicle Collision into Tree

The incident remains under investigation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening, December 24, the driver of a truck collided with a tree near the intersection of Commercial and Owens STS SE, resulting in his death.

The arriving patrol officer and paramedics extracted the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Salem Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run Collision

(SALEM, Ore.) - 74-year-old Linda Louise Wisher was walking along the 300 block of Madrona AV, and as she crossed the driveway to an apartment complex, she was struck by a vehicle exiting the property.

Police say the victim was dragged several hundred feet where she was found by the motorist.

School in Session Following Shooting at Cleveland High School

A 16-year old is recovering after being shot. No arrests have been made.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - On Monday, about 12:30 p.m., 911 received a call from someone who heard gunshots in the area of Cleveland High School.

Investigators confirm that a 16-year-old was injured in the shooting incident at the school. It has been determined that the gunshot is non-life-threatening.

Portland Man Killed When Over 45 Vehicles Crash on I-5

One fatality and 4 subjects were transported to area hospitals.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Preliminary estimates of involved vehicles are 15 to 20 Commercial Motor Vehicles and 45 passenger vehicles with one confirmed fatality.

Interstate 5 southbound was completely blocked with a detour in place and remained closed most of the day.
