OLCC Suspends Ecotest Labs Marijuana Laboratory Licensee

They transferred product to an unlicensed location in Hillsboro.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - OLCC cannabis Ecotest Labs must not exercise any license privileges, or engage in any delivery or receipt of marijuana items, at the licensed premises, or any other premises until further order by the OLCC.

The immediate suspension was based on a series of violations which the OLCC used to determine that Ecotest’s continued operation represents a serious danger to the public health and safety.

Child is One of Three Killed in Salem Shooting

Hostage situation ends in death of suspect, a woman and a young boy

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem shooting A shooting in SE Salem yesterday which resulted in multiple fatalities has left the city wondering what happened. This morning we have more information, though what motivated the hostage situation to begin with is still unknown.

Yesterday at about 12:30 p.m., MCSO Deputies responded to a hostage situation. Upon hearing gunshots inside deputies forced entry into the residence in an effort to effect a rescue.

Fatal Crash on Ballston Rd Near Sheridan

The names are not being released until family of the deceased is notified.

(BALLSTON, Ore.) - Ballston fatal crash Once on scene, deputies located a white, 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with severe rollover damage. Initial assessment of the crash site shows the Jeep Cherokee was eastbound on Ballston Road when it left the road surface and went onto the southern shoulder and then into the ditch.

The vehicle then rolled several times.

Salem Hostage Situation Ends with Multiple Fatalities

Officer involved shooting in SE Salem leaves multiple people deceased.

(SALEM, Ore.) - shooting investigation Once deputies arrived at the home a call was placed to the suspect inside by a trained negotiator with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Hostage Negotiation Team. As the incident unfolded, shots were fired.

Deputies are reporting that there were multiple fatalities during this incident, including that of the suspect.
No deputies were injured.

Man Suffers Self-Inflicted Gun Shot Wound in Downtown Dallas

Anyone with information regarding this shooting please call 503-831-3516.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - shooting investigation Dallas Police officer Jordan Schrock responded to a 911 call found an adult male with a gun shot wound outside a downtown business in the SE 100 Block of Court Street. The individual was alive. Dallas Fire & EMS responded also and transported the male to an area hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates the gunshot injury was self-inflicted.

(SALEM, Ore.) - George Atiyeh George has been missing since the Sept. 8th Wildfire that roared down Opal Creek, burning down the Opal Creek Ancient Forest Education Center at Jawbone Flats, the old mining camp that he and pals restored starting the 1970s.

As I write this no contact has been made since that fateful day.

Charges Filed After Molotov Cocktails Thrown at Portland Police

Portland police arrested 13 people at the Sept 23 protest.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland protests During the night of September 23rd, the 118th day of protests in Portland, Oregon, multiple Molotov cocktails were thrown at police in downtown. One exploded near the intersection of SW 2nd Avenue and SW Main Street.

The resulting explosion caused a Portland Police officer’s boot to catch fire.

Salem Teen Killed and One Injured in Shooting Tuesday Night

(SALEM, Ore.) - shooting investigation Salem Police Department is investigating a shooting which occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m., Sept 22, at the Hoover School Park, located in the 1200 block of Savage Rd NE.

Two victims, a male and female, were struck by the gunfire. Both victims were transported by medics to Salem Hospital, where one victim later died of their injuries.

Limited Area in South Salem: BOIL WATER NOTICE

This notice applies to a limited portion of South Salem only. Not all City of Salem water customers need to boil water.

(SALEM, Ore.) - boil water At approximately 4:30 p.m., September 23, 2020, a 12-inch cast iron main ruptured causing water pressure to be interrupted to approximately 1,000 homes in the South Salem area in the City of Salem (see affected area in map below).

No other areas of the water system were affected by the pressure interruption.
