Fatal Pedestrian v. Vehicle Crash on Hwy 30

Hwy 30 was closed for 2.5 hours following the crash.

(Multnomah County, Ore.) - fatal crash A Ford Escape, operated by 28-year old Brandon Pollard, of Warren, was travelling eastbound on Hwy 30 and struck a female adult who was on foot within the eastbound “A” Lane.

The pedestrian has been identified as 41-year old Amy Bybee, of Portland.

Bicyclist Killed in Hwy 34 Crash

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - fatal bicycle accident Based on witness statements, a bicyclist was riding on Hwy 34 approximately 6 miles west of Philomath. When, as the bike was turning east onto Decker Road, a Ford pickup tried to pass the bike and they collided.

Life saving measures were taken but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers Investigate Report of Armed Person on McKay HS Campus

Contrary to postings on social media, no shots were fired on or near the campus.

(SALEM, Ore.) - McKay High school At about 11:30 a.m. today multiple Salem Police officers responded to McKay High School on the report of an armed person.

No weapons were found. No arrests were made. The students involved were released to school administrators.

Student with Gun Arrested at Salem Middle School

The student was transported to the Marion County Juvenile Detention Facility

(SALEM, Ore.) - Stephens Middle School A middle school student was arrested for having a handgun Monday morning.

Salem Police officers responded to Stephens Middle School at approximately 10:40 a.m. on the report by staff of a student with a handgun hidden in a backpack. The student was detained by staff without incident prior to police arrival.

Visitors will be able to enjoy holiday décor in the Rotunda and outside of the House and Senate Chambers. There will be an electronic exhibit with stories of past holiday experiences and messages from select sponsors and choirs.
