Beavers to Open Gymnastics Season Ranked 17th

The 2022 OSU gymnastics team features 13 returning letter winners

(BOWLING GREEN, Ohio) - Brianna Yamamoto The Oregon State gymnastics team will begin the 2022 campaign as the 17th ranked team in the nation according to the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Preseason Poll, which was released on Friday.

Eleven out of 12 opponents on the Beavers' schedule are ranked in the top 36 with a 12th receiving votes.

Oregon Legislature Passes $40 Million Disaster Relief Fund

The intent is to meet the unique needs of Oregon producers, for whom disaster assistance has not typically worked.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon ice storm Monday, during the 2021 second special session, the Oregon Legislature awarded $40 million to this new, one-of-a-kind program to help mitigate economic losses farmers and ranchers sustained because of the compounding natural disasters in 2021, including the ice storm, heat dome, and drought.

Senate Bill 892 that directs the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) to establish a disaster assistance program.

Oregon State Police Seeking Public Assistance in the Killing of Bald Eagle

Cash rewards for information leading to an arrest

(LANE COUNTY, Ore.) - Bald Eagle killed OSP Fish & Wildlife Troopers from the Springfield Area Command are seeking the public’s assistance in the identification of a person(s) who are responsible for killing a Bald Eagle in the Junction City area.

On November 30, 2021, a citizen reported finding a dead Bald Eagle in the Cox Butte area west of Junction City, Oregon.

Oregon Adds $100 Million in Support for Renters and Landlords

The legislation is now with Governor Brown for her signature.

(SALEM, Ore.) - housing Monday, the Oregon State Legislature in a special session passed SB 5561 (2nd Special Session of 2021) that adds an additional $100 million in state funding to the federal Oregon Emergency Rental Assistance Program (OERAP) to help tenants and landlords in need.

OERAP continues to be one of the nation’s leading programs.

17 Oregon State Beavers Recognized By Pac-12

Oregon State plays in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Dec. 18 on ABC at 4:30 p.m. PT.

(SAN FRANCISCO, CA.) - OSU Beavers Running back B.J. Baylor, offensive lineman Nathan Eldridge and inside linebacker Avery Roberts have been named All-Pac-12 First Team selections, it was announced on Tuesday.

The trio highlights 17 total selections for the Beavers, Oregon State’s most since the 2008 season.

(SALEM, Ore.) - missing child The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), Child Welfare Division, asks the public to help find 16-year old Marley Kay Wnorowski, a child in foster care who went missing from Pendleton, Oregon on Oct. 30. Marley is believed to possibly be in danger.

She may be in the company of Kyle Teeter, a 25-year-old male.

Police Make Arrest After Dead Man Found in Car Trunk

One man is being charged with abuse of a corpse in the second degree.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Flennory death investigation Upon opening the trunk, a suitcase containing a body was found. Members of the Salem Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded to investigate the death. Detectives were later able to positively identify the body as Flennory.

During the investigation, two individuals were found living inside Flennory’s apartment.

Fatal Pedestrian v. Vehicle Crash on Hwy 30

Hwy 30 was closed for 2.5 hours following the crash.

(Multnomah County, Ore.) - fatal crash A Ford Escape, operated by 28-year old Brandon Pollard, of Warren, was travelling eastbound on Hwy 30 and struck a female adult who was on foot within the eastbound “A” Lane.

The pedestrian has been identified as 41-year old Amy Bybee, of Portland.

Bicyclist Killed in Hwy 34 Crash

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - fatal bicycle accident Based on witness statements, a bicyclist was riding on Hwy 34 approximately 6 miles west of Philomath. When, as the bike was turning east onto Decker Road, a Ford pickup tried to pass the bike and they collided.

Life saving measures were taken but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
