Bicyclist Killed in Hwy 34 Crash

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Based on witness statements, a bicyclist was riding on Hwy 34 approximately 6 miles west of Philomath. When, as the bike was turning east onto Decker Road, a Ford pickup tried to pass the bike and they collided.

Life saving measures were taken but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One Fatality in Collision Near Enchanted Forest

Police say speed may have been the cause.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Yesterday, a motor vehicle crash claimed the life of one person near Enchanted Forest.

Monday, November 22, 2021 at approximately 11:28 AM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Enchanted Way near the Hwy 164 interchange.

No Arrests in Fatal Stabbing Near Salem

A double-stabbing left one man dead outside of Salem, Oregon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - About 3 a.m., Friday the 13th, Marion County deputies responded to a multiple stabbing in a rural area just east of Salem.

When detectives arrived, they determined one person was deceased and another victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Scio Man Killed in Head-On Motorcycle Crash

Motorcycle crashes involving another motor vehicle continue to account for nearly half of all motorcyclist fatalities in the United States.

(TURNER, Ore.) - Police say a green Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Turner Road when it went into the oncoming lane, striking the motorcyclist, 66-year old Wayne Laird, of Scio. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Honda Accord was uninjured.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Suspected in Death of Father and Daughter

Each year in the United States there are at least 430 accidental deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Detectives believe the two deaths were the result of carbon monoxide poisoning from a propane heater being used inside the trailer. Two animals, a dog and a cat, were also found dead inside.
