Current High Surf and Wind Warnings for Oregon

High surf will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing rip currents and localized beach erosion.

(SALEM, Ore.) - rainy traffic picture A High Surf Advisory and High Wind Warnings are now in effect, and will remain so until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for the entire Oregon coastline and the Coast Range.

During the storm, seas will climb to 23-27 feet, with periods around 11 seconds. Seas have already reached 23 feet off the mouth of the Columbia River, and will peak closer to the value of 27 feet tonight, during the strongest winds.

Crash Kills One and Injures 8 Near Mt. Hood Meadows

OSP troopers from The Dalles Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

(MOUNT HOOD, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a Saturday morning two-vehicle fatal traffic crash on Highway 35 about five miles north of Mt. Hood Meadows that left one person dead and eight injured.

OSP Sergeant Julie Wilcox says Saturday at approximately 10:28 a.m. a 1992 GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle driven by 16-year old Justin Wayne O'Neal of Battleground, Washington was southbound with two other teenagers on Highway 35 near milepost 69 on snow/ice-covered roadway conditions.

Attempted Murder / Kidnapping Suspect Arrested in Clackamas County

The charges stem from gunshots fired at a moving car and a related kidnapping.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - 33-year old Jose Guadalupe Pinedaleon of Vancouver, Washington faces charges of attempted murder, and first-degree Kidnapping. At 12:12 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, a frightened Spanish speaking female came to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, reporting she had been shot at while traveling along I-205 near SW Stafford Road and was forced to accompany this armed suspect to an unidentified remote location near Battle Ground, Washington.

Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, says after several hours elapsed, this courageous victim was able to seize the suspect's handgun when he fell asleep and flee on foot from the suspect vehicle.

Police Investigate Double Fatal Traffic Crash on Highway 22 near Dallas

OSP troopers from the McMinnville Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Roadway conditions were wet.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a Sunday morning single vehicle fatal traffic crash on Highway 22 near Dallas that resulted in two deaths and four injuries, two of which are critical.

Troopers investigating the crash say alcohol is a possible contributing factor. The following update is releasing all names.

Two Killed, Several Hurt in Crash on I-84 West of Baker City

Five passengers from the crash are still in Intensive Care.

(BAKER CITY) - Fatal crash Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigating a single vehicle double fatal rollover crash Thursday morning on Interstate 84 about five miles west of Baker City.

Lieutenant Gregg Hastings with OSP, says passengers were seriously injured in the crash as well in the crash that happened Thursday at approximately 5:20 a.m.

Suspect on Stolen Motorcycle Runs Into Salem Police Patrol Car

The suspect was charged with Driving Under The Influence Of Intoxicants, Driving While Suspended, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and was cited for traffic infractions as well.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 27-year old Michael Jones of Salem Police say a suspect driving a stolen motorcycle with no lights ran a stop sign and collided with the side of a Salem Police unmarked patrol car last night.

Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada, says the incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. when officer Jessie Rios was on patrol as a Gang Enforcement Officer driving southbound on 17th St SE at Trade St SE.

Washington County Man Life Flighted After Driving Into a Tree (PHOTOS)

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crash in Washington County Oregon 11-8-09 Washington County Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident Sunday on NW Dairy Creek Road at NW Three Cedars Road. Sgt. Vance Stimler with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, says the vehicle left the road and hit a tree causing extensive damage and injuring the driver.

30-year old David Law of Washington County, was transported
by Life Flight to OHSU with life threatening injuries.

Marion County Deputy Survives Head on Crash (PHOTOS)

A Salem woman and her son also survived the crash.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Head-on crash in Marion County, Oregon 11-8-09 Marion County Deputy Mike Brewster was involved in a head-on vehicle crash while driving his marked patrol car on Quinaby Road NE and Clear Lake Road this morning at 10:07 a.m.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Sheriff's Office, says Brewster had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Salem Hospital where he is in stable condition and will be held overnight for observation.

Beaverton Driver Injured in Early Morning Crash (PHOTOS)

Police believe the driver was traveling too fast for the foggy conditions.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crash on Oregon's Sunset Highway, 11-1-09 Deputies say a driver suffered serious non-life threatening injuries early this morning when his vehicle, eastbound on Sunset Highway, slammed into the back of a parked semi truck.

Sgt. Dave Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says 44-year old driver, Arnufo Reyes Jr. of Beaverton, was driving his 2005 Mercedes C230 east on Highway 26, the Sunset Highway east of the Highway 6 intersection when the crash happened Sunday, November 1st, at 6:04 a.m.

Pedestrians Struck by Driver In Portland: One Dies

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating, and traffic investigators do not believe the driver was impaired.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A driver struck two pedestrians tonight in Portland, killing an adult woman while injuring a second pedestrian. Detective Mary Wheat with the Portland Police Bureau, says it happened around 7:25 p.m. in the area of Southeast 80th and Foster Road.

"When officers arrived, they found two pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle and one of the pedestrians was dead at the scene. The second pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries."
