Two-Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of a Salem Man on Highway 20

Even in the best of conditions, driving can be risky.

(LINN COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal crash investigation A Salem man was killed yesterday when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into the side of a Kenworth log truck.

Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report at about 10:30 a.m. of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near milepost 34.5 (east of Sweet Home).

Crashed Truckload of Slimy Hagfish Will be Remembered Always

Last Thursday, Oregon coast travelers learned that when Hagfish become stressed, they secrete a slime. That'll be hard to forget.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Oregon hagfish When Oregon State Police and emergency workers responded to a multi-vehicle crash at noon last Thursday, little did they know that there was a slime-fest waiting.

It all began when a 1993 Mitsubishi truck was traveling northbound on US Highway 101 near milepost 131, approaching roadway construction. An ODOT flagger had northbound traffic stopped, but Mr. Tragale was unable to stop the vehicle- or the load he was hauling.

Redmond Man Arrested for Road Rage Incident

A motorcyclist suffered the consequences for another man's rage.

(REDMOND, Ore.) - motorcycle crash An arrest has been made in the vehicle vs motorcycle crash on Hwy 97 that occurred yesterday afternoon at milepost 128, near SW Young Avenue.

The motorcyclist, 40-year old Jerome Worley, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Life Flight Air Ambulance.

Not Specified Gender Choice Coming to Oregon Driver Licenses

A third option on driver licenses, instruction permits and ID cards will be available starting July 3

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon drivers license An X will appear instead of M or F in Oregon driver records and on the driver license, instruction permit or ID card.

The new rule came about after an Oregon resident’s court order authorized a sex change from female to “non-binary.” In order to comply with the order, DMV needed about a year to implement the change.

Old McKenzie Pass Highway Opens for Summer Season

Drivers are urged to use caution ...it's a fun but very narrow road.

(BEND, Ore.) - Dee Wright Observatory The Old McKenzie Pass Highway (OR 242) will officially open to all traffic on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 8 a.m. The highway has been closed due to winter snows.

Motorists driving on this curvy road need to be aware of bicyclists and pedestrians on the roadway and take proper precautions. Vehicles longer than 35 feet are prohibited from using the highway.

Highway 58 Crash Claims Life of Salem Man

The names of all involved will not be released at this time.

(KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore.) - Fatal Hwy 58 There was a fatal motor vehicle crash near milepost 67 on Hwy 58, this morning about 7:15, according to Oregon State Police. The accident scene is about 5 miles west of Crescent Lake in Klamath County.

The preliminary investigation determined that a 2004 Subaru was westbound on Hwy 58 when it lost control on the icy roadway. The Subaru then slid into the eastbound lane where it struck a 2010 Nissan SUV.

OSP Investigating Double Fatality Crash Hwy 18 near McMinnville

The two-vehicle double fatality crash closed Hwy 18 for 6 hours.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - double fatal Saturday afternoon at about 3:20, Oregon State Police responded to the report of a two vehicle head-on motor vehicle crash on Hwy 18 near milepost 49. This location is just east of McMinnville in Yamhill County.

Upon arrival, OSP determined a silver 2016 Dodge Caravan operated by 59-year old William Eugene Stockinger and his passenger 65-year old Linda Louise Stockinger from Tualatin had been westbound on Hwy 18 when it crossed into the eastbound lane.
