Portland Man Arrested After Stand-Off in Aurora

The suspect had numerous outstanding warrants for his arrest.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Police Today at about 1:40 p.m. an Oregon State Police Trooper attempted to contact a green Acura after it passed the Trooper driving in a reckless manner.

The vehicle attempted to elude the Trooper, then it stopped and the operator fled on foot into the residence located at 23531 Meadow Dr. Aurora.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Jennifer Black About 1:30 a.m. on August 18th, shots were fired in the parking lot of the Pine Street Pub. Police and medical personnel located two gunshot victims and they were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

40-year-old Jennifer Anne Black, of Salem, died as a result of the shooting.

Oregonians have 35 more Hours to Sign up for Subsidized Health Insurance

The sign-up period to buy insurance for 2020 has been extended.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon The sign-up period to buy health insurance for 2020 has been extended. People who do not qualify for the Oregon health plan or get insurance through their employer now have until Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 11:59 p.m. PST to apply for a subsidy and choose a health plan at HealthCare.gov.

After Tuesday night’s deadline, people will be able to buy health insurance only when they lose access to other coverage or have a major life change, like adding a child to their family.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon emergency equipment Just in time for winter weather, a second round of equipment being distributed to communities throughout Oregon has arrived, thanks to the State Preparedness and Incident Response Equipment (SPIRE) Grant Program. This equipment may include vehicles or other property.

One of the awardees, the City of Stayton, Ore. received a 56kW mobile-power generator that can be used for emergency power at the Emergency Operations Center.

SW Oregon Expects Historic Storm

Expect delays, poor driving conditions in SW Oregon

(MEDFORD, Ore.) - Oregon weather Drivers should expect damaging winds, especially on the south coast and blizzard conditions with low snow levels in the mountain passes. “If people can leave today, now is the time,” said ODOT District Manager Jerry Marmon. “Travel Tuesday into Wednesday is forecast to be the worst, with conditions improving for Thanksgiving Day.”

South coast wind gusts of more than 75 mph are predicted. Six to 12 inches of snow are expected to fall on the I-5 corridor in Oregon and higher amounts in the Cascade passes.
