Oregon Alerts Patients of OMMP Changes for 2020

Oregon's Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) has changes coming January 1st that patients and caretakers need to know.

(SALEM, Ore.) - cannabis Cards will now contain a "Print/Issued Date" and an "Effective Date". It is important to know the difference between the two dates. If you are a grower, you cannot start growing for your patient until the "Effective Date".

Also, the new forms ask who the property owner is if a grow site is being designated. If the property owner is not the patient or grower, the grow site consent form is required.

Portland Man Arrested After Stand-Off in Aurora

The suspect had numerous outstanding warrants for his arrest.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Police Today at about 1:40 p.m. an Oregon State Police Trooper attempted to contact a green Acura after it passed the Trooper driving in a reckless manner.

The vehicle attempted to elude the Trooper, then it stopped and the operator fled on foot into the residence located at 23531 Meadow Dr. Aurora.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Jennifer Black About 1:30 a.m. on August 18th, shots were fired in the parking lot of the Pine Street Pub. Police and medical personnel located two gunshot victims and they were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

40-year-old Jennifer Anne Black, of Salem, died as a result of the shooting.

The sign-up period to buy insurance for 2020 has been extended.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon The sign-up period to buy health insurance for 2020 has been extended. People who do not qualify for the Oregon health plan or get insurance through their employer now have until Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 11:59 p.m. PST to apply for a subsidy and choose a health plan at HealthCare.gov.

After Tuesday night’s deadline, people will be able to buy health insurance only when they lose access to other coverage or have a major life change, like adding a child to their family.
