Speed may have been a contributing factor in the fatal crash
(MOLALLA, Ore.) -
Witnesses called 911 Monday at 12:49 p.m., directing authorities to the 12000 block of S Dart Rd. in unincorporated Molalla, where a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a rest.
Dispatchers were told that the three occupants of the vehicle all appeared to be seriously injured.

Quadruple Fatal Crash Interstate 5 near Rice Hill

Witnesses are being sought that saw the red Acura driving the wrong way on the freeway.
(DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.) -
A red Acura Integra was southbound on Interstate 5 when for unknown reasons turned around and went northbound in the southbound lanes, colliding nearly head-on with a southbound Nissan Murano.
The two vehicles became engulfed in fire after the collision. Drivers of both vehicles died from injuries sustained in the crash and two passengers that were removed from the Nissan Murano also succumbed to their injuries.

Another DUI double-fatal crash that could have been avoided by simply not getting behind the wheel.
(JACKSON COUNTY, Ore.) -
Saturday night about 8:30, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Highway 234 near Eagle Point in Jackson County.
According to police, a black Harley Davidson was traveling eastbound with a passenger when a silver Ford Mustang collided nearly head-on with the motorcycle.

(SPIRIT LAKE, Idaho) -
It was about 10:50 p.m. when 25-year old Jonathan A. Smith was traveling south on Idaho state Highway 41 in a 1992 Dodge Dakota, while 49-year old Mark Kondash was driving northbound, riding a 2002 Harley Davidson.
According to the preliminary investigation, Smith attempted to enter a side road and turned directly into the path of the motorcycle.

Oregonian Newspaper Delivery Driver Killed in Weather Accident

An unfortunate accident befell a local Astoria woman.
(ASTORIA, Ore.) -
On arrival it was determined that a delivery driver for the Oregonian newspaper, 50-year old Debra Kay Burnett, of Astoria, had attempted to climb a hilly section of 12th Street near Kensington with her delivery vehicle. She was on her regular route.
Due to the road being covered in snow and ice, the vehicle was not able to make it to the top of the street and began to slide backwards down the hill.

Washington Man Loses Life on 99W near Dundee

The highway had one lane open for all traffic for about six hours.
(DUNDEE, Ore.) -
Wednesday morning, February 7, at approximately 6:40, the Oregon State Police responded to a 2 vehicle crash on Highway 99W near Archery Summit Road, about 1 mile south of Dundee, in Yamhill County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer, operated by 46-year old Dwayne Kemp, of Tacoma, WA, was travelling southbound on Highway 99W when he went into cardiac arrest.

Soldier Killed in Accidental Shooting at Camp Rilea

(CLATSOP COUNTY, Ore.) -
Members of a regular US Army unit conducting training at Camp Rilea reported a gunshot discharge in the housing area yesterday at approximately 6:30 pm at Camp Rilea.
A soldier, whose identity is not being released at this time, was declared deceased by doctors at the Emergency Room at Columbia Memorial Hospital, where the soldier had been transported.
