Fire Rips Through West Salem Home

The fire burned so hot, that it melted the siding off the home next door to the east.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - West Salem Fire A home in West Salem has been declared unlivable, and another home was damaged after a two alarm house fire Monday afternoon.

Salem Fire Department spokesman Laird Case says two people were inside the home, while another was outside when the fire broke out around 2:45 p.m. Case said that the homes occupants tried with buckets of water and a garden hose to put the fire out, but the fire spread to fast, and they called 9-1-1.

Salem Police Officer Arrested on Harassment Charge

The officer has been placed on administrative leave by the Salem Police Department pending an internal investigation.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Police Officer Brandon Hanes On August 9, the Marion County Sheriff's Office was requested by the Salem Police Department to investigate a disturbance that occurred at a Salem residence involving an off duty Salem Police Officer.

2-Alarm Fire Damages Salem Home Friday Night

One Salem Firefighter was injured during the fire, and taken to Salem Hospital.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon House Fire A two alarm fire Friday night caused heavy damage to the rear portion of a single story home in NE Salem.

As Salem-News.com was first to report, and was on scene as Salem firefighters fought the tough, raging fire located at 3325 Arbon Street, firefighters had to chop down a neighbors fence to battle the blaze.

Salem Firefighters Battling Two Alarm House Fire

(SALEM, Ore. ) - BREAKING NEWS Salem-News.com is on scene of a two alarm house fire in the 3800 block of Arbon Street NE in Salem.

Neighbors told Salem-News.com that they saw flames shooting out of the window on the back of the home and called 9-1-1. First arriving firefighters found the house, which was vacant, fully involved and called in a second alarm.

Woman Escapes Salem Mobile Home Fire

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Fire Salem firefighters were able to quickly put out a fire inside a mobile home in NE Salem Friday afternoon.

Salem Fire Chief Brian Hoaglin told Salem-News.com on scene that the fire, located inside the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park at the corner of Portland Road NE and Hazelgreen Road NE, started in the kitchen and worked it's way up into the attic.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Robert Littleton Willis A Salem, Oregon man is behind bars after he was found in possession of a large collection of child pornography, that he tried to hide from state child welfare workers at a relatives home.

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley says detectives arrested 35-year-old Robert Littleton Willis on Thursday on 123 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.

(TURNER, Ore. ) - Willamette Valley Vineyards Willamette Valley Vineyards, a leading Oregon producer of Pinot Noir, generated net income of $546,535, or $0.11 cents per share, for the second quarter of 2014.

That is up from $521,125, or $0.11 cents per share, for the corresponding prior year period, representing a $25,410 or 4.9 percent increase in net income compared to second quarter 2013.

Salem, Oregon Gas Prices Holding Steady Despite Middle East Crisis

The national average for regular unleaded slipped one-and-a-half cents this week to $3.47.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Gas Prices Gas prices in Oregon are holding steady, or have ticked down a bit, despite the on going conflicts in oil producing countries, and declining domestic refinery production.

In the Salem-area, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded remained at $3.87. In Portland-Vancouver, the average price dropped one cent this past week to $3.90. In Eugene-Springfield the price held steady at $3.87, while Medford-Ashland the price dropped one penny to $3.98.

Oregon Prison Escapee, Accomplice Arrested Tuesday Night

Police arrested 34-year-old Jerry Teixeira, and his accomplice 27-year-old Lacy Evans, Tuesday evening just after 10:30 p.m. in Stayton.
