Oregon Prison Escapee, Accomplice Arrested Tuesday Night

Officials are not sure if Teixeira was in the exercise yard, or inside the prison at the time of the escape.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The inmate who walked away from a Salem, Oregon prison Saturday afternoon with the help of a female accomplice have been arrested.

Police arrested 34-year-old Jerry Teixeira, and his accomplice 27-year-old Lacy Evans, Tuesday evening just after 10:30 p.m. in Stayton.

Officials are not sure if Teixeira was in the exercise yard, or inside the prison at the time of his escape from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem. He was last seen by MCCF staff at 2:40 p.m. After leaving the minimum security prison, Teixeira got into the waiting vehicle of Evans.

Teixeira entered DOC custody on October 1, 2013, on two counts of burglary in the second degree, one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of delivering methamphetamine, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm out of Marion County. His earliest release date is September 5, 2015.

Teixeira remains in custody, while Evans was released before her next court date.
