(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon Prison Escape Police are still searching for a man who escaped from a Salem prison over the weekend, with the help of a female counterpart.

34-year-old Jerry Teixeira walked away from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem Saturday afternoon.

The MV-1 paratransit van is the only vehicle in the world built specifically for ADA purposes.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Cherriots Salem Oregon In an effort to better serve people with disabilities, Salem-Keizer Transit has purchased three paratransit vans for CherryLift, an origin-to-destination transportation service for people whose disability prevents them from using Cherriots buses.

The new paratransit vans will reduce maintenance and fuel costs while improving accessibility.

7 Salem Residents Injured in Crash

The driver's 5-year-old daughter was transported by air ambulance to Salem Hospital with critical injuries.

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - Salem Family Crash Oregon State Police is continuing to investigate Saturday morning's single vehicle serious injury traffic crash that occurred along the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Albany.

Seven people from Salem, 2 adults and 5 children, were transported to area hospitals with minor to critical injuries. Driver fatigue is being investigated as a contributing factor.

Woman Helps Man Escape from Oregon Prison

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon Prison Break A woman helped a man escape from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem Saturday afternoon.

Police are searching for 34-year-old Jerry Teixeira, and 27-year-old Lacy Kay Evans, after he was last seen by MCCF staff at 2:40 p.m. Officials say they believe Teixeira walked away from the minimum security prison -- located five miles southeast of Salem -- to a waiting vehicle driven by Evans.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Corban Womens Soccer The Cascade Collegiate Conference office recently announced that the Corban University women's soccer team was picked to finish third in the 2014 CCC Coaches' poll.

After registering an 11-6-3 overall record in 2013 and a 6-2-1 mark in CCC action, the Warriors received 81 points in the preseason poll, third only to Northwest University (85 points) and Concordia University (100 points).

Police on Alert Between Salem and Independence After Road Rage Reports

The incidents occurred between July 31st and August 4th in the area of South River Road near Orville Road and the bridge entering Independence.

(INDEPENDENCE, Ore. ) - police lights The Independence Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's office are looking into reports from different motorists of road rage and aggressive driving.

One of the reports indicates two vehicles appearing to be acting together. They were parked waiting on the side of the road for another motorist to come by.

Salem Officials Say Drinking Water is Safe

As a result of the monitoring program, staff has identified the presence of frequent, but low levels of algal toxins, in the reservoir this summer.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem-News.com Salem Public Works Department staff monitored water contamination developments in Toledo, Ohio, and Lincoln City, Oregon, with interest this week, as a toxic algae bloom restricted use of drinking water in both cities.

Algae blooms are also known to occur in Detroit Lake and the North Santiam River, Salem's water source.
