Oregon Prison Escapee, Accomplice Still on the Run

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Police are still searching for a man who escaped from a Salem prison over the weekend, with the help of a female counterpart.

34-year-old Jerry Teixeira walked away from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem Saturday afternoon. Officials are not sure if he was in the exercise yard, or inside the prison at the time of the escape. He was last seen by MCCF staff at 2:40 p.m.

After leaving the prison, Teixeira got into the waiting vehicle of 27-year-old Lacy Kay Evans.

Teixeira is described as 6'1, 190 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. Teixeira was last seen wearing blue jeans with the word "inmate" and the DOC logo stenciled on the knee in orange, and a blue t-shirt with the word "inmate" and the DOC logo stenciled in orange on the front and back.

Evans is described as 6 feet with short platinum blonde hair, and has distinctive tattoos on her chest.

Teixeira entered DOC custody on October 1, 2013, on two counts of burglary II, one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of delivering methamphetamine, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm out of Marion County. His earliest release date is September 5, 2015.
