Woman Escapes Salem Mobile Home Fire

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem firefighters were able to quickly put out a fire inside a mobile home in NE Salem Friday afternoon.

Salem Fire Chief Brian Hoaglin told Salem-News.com on scene that the fire, located inside the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park at the corner of Portland Road NE and Hazelgreen Road NE, started in the kitchen and worked it's way up into the attic.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the attic, before it could spread and do more damage. Hogglin said damage to the inside of the home was extensive, and that the woman who lived inside was able to escape with the help of some neighbors uninjured.

Fire officials were working with the woman to see if she would need the assistance of Red Cross after the fire.
