Salem Police Officer Survives Shooting at Traffic Stop

38-year old Jaime Jimenez was booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility on multiple charges

(SALEM, Ore.) - According to officials, the officer, whose name has yet to be released, stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Highland AV NE, and during the stop a male suspect shot at the officer. The suspect then fled in his vehicle.

The injured officer was transported to Salem Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

No Injuries in Helicopter Crash at McMinnville Airport

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Friday evening about 5:05, the McMinnville Police responded to a report of a non-injury helicopter crash at the McMinnville Airport.

The pilot and passenger were performing training exercises and lost rpm, causing rotor-to-ground contact. The helicopter crashed, coming to rest on its side just to the north of the taxi-way. The crash location coordinates were: 45.19N 123.13W 161 elevation.

Illegal Marijuana Growing Operation Busted

14,497 cannabis plants were removed and destroyed.

(JACKSON COUNTY, Ore.) - A several-month long investigation into black market marijuana exportation from Oregon to several Midwestern states has revealed a large scale indoor marijuana growing operation, which was not licensed or legal, in southern Oregon.

Investigators say the illegal operation was being managed by 24-year old Gregory Martin Day, of North Carolina. He was taken into custody.

OR 34 Corvallis-Lebanon Highway Cleanup Underway

The highway is open, but you should expect lane closures and delays

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Crews began removing debris, clearing culverts and rebuilding shoulders today on OR 34, Corvallis-Lebanon Highway, between Colorado Lake Drive and Peoria Road.

Flood waters closed the road between Tuesday night and Friday morning. As of April 13, an eastbound lane remained closed at the OR 34 Bypass and the Bypass was closed between OR 99W and OR 34. Single lane closures should be expected for at least two weeks.

Portland Man Pleads Guilty to Interstate Marijuana Trafficking Conspiracy

The Justice Department (OCDETF) works with state and local law enforcement, even against non-lethal marijuana.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - According to court documents, 38-year old Paul Eugene Thomas and 33-year old Raleigh Dragon Lau, of Portland, and 29-year old Jody Tremayne Wafer, 30-year old Trent Lamar Knight, and 28-year old Brittany Lesanta Kizzee, conspired to manufacture marijuana in Portland, transport it across state lines, and sell it in Virginia and Texas.
