Manhunt for Armed Suspect in Salem Continues

Police ask the public that if you know the location or see the suspect to call 911.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Diamond Damien Gipson Police in Salem are still searching for a man that they considered to be armed and dangerous. A woman and child also involved in the incident are fine.

Marion County Sheriff's Deputies were called Tuesday morning to a domestic disturbance call in the 4700 block of Lancaster Drive NE. After speaking with the victim and her child probable cause was developed to arrest the male suspect.

Salem Authorities Searching for Armed Suspect

UPDATE: 3:50 p.m. We now have video from the scene from Salem-News.com's Jerry Freeman. Police are searching the area for 20-year-old, Sir Diamond Damien Gipson who is described as a black male, 5'10" tall and 150 lbs, and is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities

Police Effort to Combat Underage Drinking Near Scotts Mills a Success

Several subjects were cited for offenses ranging from possession of a controlled substance, open container, camping in a closed area and littering.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - drinking An operation to combat underage drinking back in April proved successful in the forested areas near Scotts Mills.

Marion County Sheriff Sergeant Shane Burnham said, "I was told by members of the community our presence in the area forced party goers to remain out of the area."

Sheriff`s Deputies Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

Deputies will determine over the next days whether any drivers will be cited for any driving offenses.

(SALEM) - Fatal crash, Salem Oregon 4-30-14 Yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Team responded to the 9800 block of River Road NE, near Keizer.

The investigation conducted by Traffic Safety Team Deputies has determined that the 2013 Cadillac, driven by Loyd Penner, age 86, of Dallas was slowing and preparing to make a left hand turn into Egan Gardens.

(SALEM) - Marion County Sheriff Jason Myers In responses to media inquires Sheriff Jason Myers has issued the following statement regarding the Miranda-Olivares decisions set forth by the US District Court of Oregon.

Effective April 16, 2014, and consistent with the Miranda-Olivares decision, the Marion County Jail will no longer hold inmates pursuant to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer alone.

Sheriff`s Deputies Investigating Gunshot Wound

The victim in the shooting incident has been identified as Christopher Martinez, age 23, of Salem. Mr. Martinez has been discharged from Salem Hospital and no further information about his medical condition is available at this time.

(SALEM) - Police car Sheriff's Deputies received reports of multiple guns shots in the 4400 block of Silverton Road NE around 3:00 a.m.

Approximately one hour later deputies were called to the Salem Hospital to investigate a male with a gunshot wound to his right knee.

Salem Police Conduct Sweep to Enhance Victim Safety

Officers and deputies made unannounced visits to locations where court release agreements restricted the presence of specific domestic violence offenders.

(SALEM) - Police lights The Salem Police Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) teamed up with deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office Parole and Probation Division on the evening of March 21 to conduct a domestic violence offender compliance and victim safety sweep.

Eight Salem police officers and a Salem Police domestic violence victim advocate partnered with nine Marion County deputies to conduct the release agreement compliance sweep of known domestic violence offenders.

Burglars Caught in the Act in Gates

When deputies arrived they quickly surrounded the house, that it is when Melvin Roehm, age 46 walked out the front door carrying an arm load of stolen property.

(SALEM) - Suspects, Melvin Roehm and Joshua Archer Alert neighbors in the 100 block of Maple Street in Gates called the Sheriff's Office March 24th at about 11:45 a.m. and reported that two men were at a residence and stealing items from inside.

The residence has been vacant for several months and was broken into after the suspect's pried open the plywood covering the front door.

(VIDEO) Motor Vehicle Accident at Sunrise Market

Fortunately, no one was walking between the car and ice machine when the crash took place.

(SALEM) - Ice machine car crashed into, Salem, Or. 3-23-14 Late Sunday afternoon, deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office arrested Daniel Alik for a number of charges after his car reportedly jumped the sidewalk and crashed into the ice machine outside of the Sunrise Market in the 3500 block of Silverton Road.

He was charged with DUII, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
