Sheriff's Deputies Investigating Gunshot Wound

The victim in the shooting incident has been identified as Christopher Martinez, age 23, of Salem. Mr. Martinez has been discharged from Salem Hospital and no further information about his medical condition is available at this time.

(SALEM) - Sheriff's Deputies received reports of multiple guns shots in the 4400 block of Silverton Road NE around 3:00 a.m.

Approximately one hour later deputies were called to the Salem Hospital to investigate a male with a gunshot wound to his right knee.

The victim, 23-year old Christopher Martinez of Salem, was taken to Salem Hospital where was being treated for a non-life threatening injury.

The victim told investigators that he was riding his bicycle in the 4400 block of Silverton Road NE when an unknown person operating a dark blue sedan began shooting at him.

Detectives are asking the public for any witnesses who may have seen the incident to please come forward. Specifically detectives are seeking two males on bicycles who helped the victim immediately after he was shot.
