Police are searching the area for 20-year-old, Sir Diamond Damien Gipson who is described as a black male, 5'10" tall and 150 lbs, and is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities
(SALEM, Ore. ) - This morning approximately 8:30 a.m., the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance in the 4700 block of Lancaster Drive NE. After speaking with the victim and her child probable cause was developed to arrest the male suspect. During the course of the investigation it was learned that the male suspect may be armed with a firearm and he is refusing to exit the residence. As a result the Marion County SWAT Team has been called to the scene to attempt to resolve the issue. All residences around the affected area have been notified or evacuated and neither the victim nor her minor child are in danger. The area surrounding the incident is in the process of being closed. The affected areas by the incident are the following: Portland Road NE and Hayesville Road NE Portland Road NE and Lancaster Drive NE Hayesville Road NE and Reimann Street NE Lancaster Drive NE and Ward Drive NE These areas are closed and no access is being granted. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area. UPDATE: Residents living in the area where the stand-off is taking place tell Salem-News.com that they heard what may have been a flash-bang go off a short time ago. Police say they are still negotiating with the man. Authorities say a robot sent inside the home did not find the suspect, but they believe he is still in the area. UPDATE 3:50 p.m. After an exhaustive search of the residence SWAT Team members have determined that 20-year-old, Sir Diamond Damien Gipson is not in the residence. Mr. Gipson is described as a black male, 5'10" tall and 150 lbs. The area is still closed and being searched by a K9. If you know Mr. Gipson's location please call 911.
