(SALEM, Ore. ) - Police in Salem are still searching for a man that they considered to be armed and dangerous. A woman and child also involved in the incident are fine. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies were called Tuesday morning to a domestic disturbance call in the 4700 block of Lancaster Drive NE. After speaking with the victim and her child probable cause was developed to arrest the male suspect. A SWAT team was brought in to try and get the suspect, 20-year-old, Sir Diamond Damien Gipson, out of the home. After hours of negotiating to get Gipson to come out of the home peacefully, a mobile robot was sent in, and authorities learned that Gipson had fled the residence. Homes in the area were evacuated and streets closed, but even K-9 units were unable to locate the suspects whereabouts Sir Diamond Damien Gipson is described as a black male, 5'10" tall and 150 lbs. If you see him, do not approach him. Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call 911. How is it that the title to the story is :Manhunt for Armed Suspect in Salem Continues yet... the commentary states: man that they considered to be armed - so which is it??? Is he ARMED or is he Considered Armed... Is there reporting that is fair and accurate?
EDITOR: Thank you for your question. The answer is: Both. The police are looking for an armed suspect because they believe that suspect to be armed.
