Is Scott M. Fishman, MD Responsible for Opioid Addictions and Deaths?

His "guide" aimed at State Medical Boards around the country became the holy grail to physicians in minimizing the dangers of addiction and death from prescribed opioids such as OxyContin.

(MYRTLE BEACH, SC) - Dr. Fishman has been relatively quiet since being named in a now sealed US Senate Finance Committee investigation as well as being sued throughout the country for his part in the opioid epidemic.

The complaint states that Purdue Pharma, maker of OxyContin, drafted and sponsored "Responsible Opioid Prescribing", a clinician guidebook produced by the Federation of State Medical Board (FSMB) and written by Scott M. Fishman, MD.

(ST PAUL, Ore.) - Investigators believe 26-year old Jorge Valdez-Espinoza, of Newberg was driving his Chevy truck west on McKay Road at a high rate of speed when he collided with an eastbound box van, killing Valdez-Espinoza instantly.

The crash also killed the driver of the box van, 33-year old Joseph Ensign-Lewis, of Portland, as well as the passenger in the Chevy truck, 21-year old Leonel Sanchez-Jaimes, of Salem.

Salem Teen Killed in Early Morning Crash

Investigation is underway by the Salem Police traffic team

(SALEM, Ore.) - When officers arrived they found the vehicle had in fact struck a tree and that the vehicle was occupied by five juveniles all ranging between the ages of 14 years old to 17 years old.

Four of the juveniles were transported to the Salem Hospital and to Portland area hospitals. Unfortunately, one passenger, a 17 year old, was found dead at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

2-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Kills Gresham Man

All lanes of I-5 southbound were open near Salem by 11 a.m.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Today at about 5:00 a.m., Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 257.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2003 Kia Rio, operated by 20-year old Jacob Bowlsby, of Gresham, lost control and came to a stop in the middle of the freeway. At the same time, a 1997 Honda Civic, operated by 20-year old Oscar Aguilar Esparza, of Salem, was southbound and collided with the Kia Rio.
