(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon COVID COVID-19 has claimed two more lives in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 176, the Oregon Health Authority reported at 12:01 a.m. today.

Oregon Health Authority reported 101 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 a.m. today bringing the state total to 5,636.

New data looks at 10 years of fatal teen crash rates between Memorial Day and Labor Day

(SALEM, Ore.) - Teen drivers AAA finds that the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day are when the number of crash fatalities involving teen drivers rise. This year, the combination of schools closed, activities curtailed, summer jobs canceled, and COVID-19 restrictions being lifted could prove deadly as teens take to the road this summer.

“Our data analysis has found that for every mile driven, new teen drivers ages 16-17 years old are three times more likely to be involved in a deadly crash compared to adults.”

Seven of the new total cases are related to the Townsend Farms outbreak.

Oregon State Supreme Court Says Stay at Home Orders Remain in Place

The Baker County court ruling is now on hold pending further arguments.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Baker County Circuit Judge Matthew Shirtcliff This evening, the Oregon Supreme Court stayed a lower court ruling that invalidated Governor Brown’s recent stay at home executive orders. The orders impose certain requirements and limitations aimed at slowing the spread of the disease.

As a result, the Governor’s executive orders remain in place until further consideration by the court.
