(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Led by Tyler Nelson’s subpar two-day score of 143, the Linfield College Wildcats cruised to a 32-stroke victory over runner-up Pacific University in the George Fox University Invitational men’s golf tournament held Saturday and Sunday here at the Chehalem Glenn Golf Course.
The first day of play was halted by darkness with five of the eight groups still on the par 72, 6,646-yard course. Those groups were able to complete their first round early Sunday afternoon before the second round was played.

The game will be played at Gladstone High School. (EUGENE, Ore.) - The Northwest Christian University women’s soccer team kept William Jessup scoreless for the first 72 minutes of the game, but the Warriors broke through with two goals in a four minute stretch, walking away from Mike Kelly Field on Saturday night with a 2-0 victory.
The defense was in focus for both teams tonight as neither side was allowed many strong scoring opportunities during the scoreless first-half.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Limited Concordia to a .027 hitting percentage, the defending Cascade Collegiate Conference champion Coyotes from the College of Idaho defeated the Cavaliers 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-9) in volleyball action on Saturday night.
With the win, C of I improved to 9-1 on the year and 6-0 in CCC play while CU dropped to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the league.

(ASHLAND, Ore.) - Willamette University trailed by 13-3 at halftime, but the Bearcats rallied with a strong second half to defeat in-state rival Southern Oregon University, 22-15, on Saturday, Sept. 19. Willamette improved to 2-1, while SOU fell to 1-2.
The Bearcats started the comeback with a time-consuming drive to open the third quarter. Willamette drove 76 yards on 19 plays and ran 7:38 off the clock. The longest play of the drive was a 13-yard run by Deon Horne (Sr., TB, Issaquah, WA/Liberty HS) to give WU a 1st-and-10 at the SOU 12.

The Beavers came in second behind No. 1 Washington, but defeated six other teams with 70 points. Oregon State held off third place Western Washington by 13 points.

"This is an awesome win for us," head coach Tara Erickson said. "We had great goals. We played very well at the back. The midfield battled. I think we were the more physical team today."

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Willamette University volleyball team needed some late magic to pull off a come-from-behind victory over cross-town rival Corban College on Tuesday, Sept. 15. After dropping the first two sets, the Bearcats rallied to take the final three sets and the match.
The first set was close from start to finish with WU never trailing by more than four points until near the end. Molly Blankenship (Jr., OH, Spokane, WA/Spokane Falls CC) led the way for the Bearcats, as she recorded five kills in the set.

(ORANGE, Calif.) - Chapman University tied Willamette University by scoring with 3:16 remaining in regulation, then won the game in the first overtime, as the Panthers remained undefeated by edging the Bearcats, 2-1, on Sunday, Sept. 13. Chapman upped its record to 5-0, while Willamette dropped to 1-2-1.
Willamette's goal was scored by Alex Batzer (Jr., F, Medford, OR/North Medford HS) just 6:01 into the game. Haley Rosenthal (Sr., MF, Cheyenne, WY/Cheyenne East HS) earned an assist after starting the play with a corner kick. WU's lead held until Kate Lilly scored for Chapman at 86:44 on an assist from Rosie Chinen.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game as Lizzie Perkins put one past George Fox starting goalkeeper Autumn Van Meter from the deep right corner.
