Marijuana and Vaporizers: Lauded by New York Times

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - I was not surprised to read this article, Thursday, October 6, 2011. The Times has had many articles about this subject but most usually commend the police for arresting sick users of this valuable medicine or casual one stick smokers.

It seems the police would have more important useful tasks to account for their $70,000 per year salaries. That said let me get to more important matters.

Sixteen states now have legal medical marijuana which is the most useful and safe medicine for a whole variety of medical conditions. I had about 5000 patients. The most common reason for marijuana use was for pain.

About 70% of patients use it for pain and some use it even for bad headaches because it works very rapidly and does not have the hazard of stomach bleeding or ulcers by aspirin et cetera nor the toxicity to the liver by Tylenol. Marijuana is one of the safest medicines ever discovered.

The next most common use is for muscle spasms of the back, arms or legs. About 30% of patients use it to relieve muscle spasms.

Third on the list, about 20% of patients, is relief of nausea usually caused by many other medications but also for the nausea of Cancer and HIV/AIDS. For the latter two it is life saving because it also stimulates appetite. All in all there are about 100 medical conditions for which marijuana gives relief.

There is one minor hazard to smoking marijuana by cigarette. The smoke fumes do irritate the lung passages and cause mild coughing by bronchitis.

This brings me to the vaporizers, many if not most patients, legal medical or just plain Joes or Janes have discovered the best way to use “grass” whether its good stuff or “Mexican mud” without the lung irritation is with a vaporizer.

Vaporizers have controlled temperature and do not produce or cause SMOKE. They vaporize the important medical ingredients WITHOUT irritating heat or smoke particles.

The Times has provided a real educational service to their public readers and pointed out that vaporizers are much much better than smoking a joint or even the use of a bong or glass pipe.

Vaporizers come in many forms with prices from about $40 to the highest priced elegant vaporizer called the Volcano which costs about $500 but is really not much better than the twenty or so vaporizers in the medium price range. In the long run any vaporizer will pay for itself with a much more pleasant way of administering this good medicine.

It’s too bad and even foolish that a person can be arrested and jailed for having one joint or a bong, especially that it cost almost $1000 a day to be kept in jail or prison.

In the meantime the U.S. Government estimates that about 10% of the public uses Marijuana legally or not.

I live with muscle spasms and cronic pain daily from a car accident about 25 years ago. As I do not live in one of the 'legla states' , I am unable to get medical marijuana, thus, I have to buy street form. I do not believe I would get 3 hours sleep a night without it, and would probably drink myself to death without it. The nerve damage, no pain meds they have tried even touches. At one point, for over 5 years they gave me loratab, percoset, etc. I became addicted. About 4 years ago I made the decision to go off them volentarily and it was one of the hardest things I have ever endured.

Marijuana,on the other hand does indeed stop the muscle spasms caused by pinched nerves and it also helps tremendously with the cronic pain. I end up only being able to find what you here call Mexican mud, but it beats a blank, and basically use it for getting sleep at night.

Bigg Pharma is a curse. They also want to push their highly addictive drugs for profit at the risk of addiction to the patients and in some instances death.

The FDA today is funded 49% by Bigg Pharma. They do 3 month 'studies' that prove later to be faulty and with horrid side effects to the patients. They would love to make a chemical form of Marijuana, but as with all their drugs, it would be far from the original and organic natural benefits it has.

I notice another poster mentions hemp. This is a wonderful product, that was grown all over the country by the military for rope for their battleships. There are still hemp fields in N. Indiana, my home state in Polaski County. They partol those fields w/ mounted police, and the few that do sneak in, thinking wrongly that it is 'smokable' either get caught of find out it is worthless for what they want it for. :)
Marijuana Oil extracted ( which take alot, to make a little ) has been proven to cure some forms of cancer.
DC is a medical Marijuana area, so why are the waging war on California dispenseries? This I do not get. The illusionary 'drug on wars' is so the US gov thru the CIA can dominate the drug trafficting and make their hidden money to finance even more covert operations as time goes on.

I have recently , in the last 6 months or so, found some great documentaries on the benefits of hemp and the countless uses it can be manufactured for. Henry Ford's first car was fueled by help, and some of hte car's body was also of hemp.

The textile of hemp is cooler and more durable than cotten, and the stems can be ground into a fiber insultion that is far superior to fiberglass without the hazards. Below, I will give the links to the websites concerning the wonders of hemp and how less costly it is.

We, the US gov and the ppl in it are ruled by Corporations and their Greed. One of the definitions of Fascism is a Country that is run by Corporations. Some call this a Republic , others call it a Democracy, but the horrid truth is that it is disguised as either of the above, but has become Fascism. If this new uprising fails, I will no longer stay here if there is any way of leaving. I don't want to live in Fascism and I can no longer condone the Genocide perpetrated by 'my'/'our' Country. At 65 ( in about 3 wks.) I still get a tear when hearing or sayng the Pledge of Allegance or Hearing Amercia the Beautiful, but that counry is lost now.. lost it's way to greed, pure and simple. I am ashamed for them and for us for not seeing it coming, but as Carlin so wisely said in on of his last performances, the American Dream was an illusion perpetuated to make us work hard, add to their coffers and become their serfs.

Canada, in some provences is allowing farmers to grow hemp. It an also be used for fuel.

So, let's see, we have the Meical Lobby, The Bigg Phama Lobby, and the Oil and Gas Lobbies that are against it, probably others, including cotton, insulation, etc.

Anyone with half a brain and isnt brainwashed by the mainstream media knows that marijuana is a breakthrough in herbal medicines.. I am going to tell you why the feds wont allow it. Its because they SELL it and do not want the competition..I understand this being hard to believe when I mentioned it several years ago, but now its even in congressional hearings...gun running, and drug smuggling...along with the U.N. saying just today "heroin output from Afghanistan to rise 61%, while the U.S. marines are guarding the opium fields, and american companies are providing the fertilizer..And now Jerry Brown vetoes a bill allowing legal hemp growing?? WTF????? Hemp growing? How can you outlaw growing a plant that makes clothes and rope?? You could smoke 50 lbs of hemp and get nothing but a headache!! what is the reasoning??? Come on people..THINK!!! Maybe because the textile industry owns obama? Or maybe marijuana is illegal because the powers to be are admitted eugenicists? and dont want people to see the benefits of MJ because the textile industry cant patent it? Look it up yourself, The FDA wants to ban vitamin supplements?? wtf??? They are also raiding farmers who sell raw milk and the cheese even tho there has been NO complaints, while the FDA has failed miserably and keeping our food safe....Are you getting the picture here yet?
