May-04-2008 00:35TweetFollow @OregonNews PTSD Victims Not Always Combat Vets: Special Interview with Bonnie King and Erin Hildebrandt (VIDEO)Bonnie King Salem-News.comA different take on traumatic stress and the things that can cause it.
(SALEM, Ore.) - When it comes to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, there is a scale of one to ten that grades the particular person's condition. When a person is at the low end, the degree of suffering they endure as a result of PTSD might be fairly manageable, but a person that is a ten might be like a ticking time bomb, dangerous to themselves as well as others. Salem-News.com's Bonnie King and Oregon medical marijuana activist and PTSD sufferer Erin Hildebrandt discuss some of the traumas in life that lead to people suffering from PTSD who never set foot in a war, but spent time on the battlefield in other ways that measure up to the same thing. In a time when hundreds of thousands of Iraq and Afghanistan war vets join the ranks of Vietnam, Korean War and WWII vets who suffer from PTSD, we remember as a society how important of a subject it is. At Salem-News.com we pay frequent attention to the subject and will continue to. Doctor Leveque is one of the top doctors and toxicologists on the subject in the nation and his combat background places him among the most credible sources in the world when it comes to PTSD, people like Erin Hildebrandt compliment the work we do by reminding us what a diverse problem PTSD is. Hopefully the law enforcement community, I know the military community observes, that those who encourage others to break the law be properly handled by our court system!

With all the positive uses for Medical Marijuana, why would we agree to having to use all the experimental drugs for ALL the trauma that we go through almost DAILY!!?

Loved your video! I know several people who, by beginning to use medical marajuana, have been able to stop using the really heavy, dangerous drugs they had been using previously, like Oxycontin and Vicodin. This is certainly NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, so I have to wonder at the real motives of those to oppose its use. I mean, to say to peole who are ill, "You must take dangerous, addictive, drugs because we don't want anyone to smoke marajuana", is...well, the descriptive word IS STUPID. It makes me really nervous, anxious in fact, when I think about our country being run by people who are too stupid to see the simple truth of this...Maybe I should get a prescription for Valium for my government-stupidity-induced anxiety...and a little morphine for the steadily growing pain in my ass that always seems to accompany it.
