Albany Traffic Accident Requires Fire Department to Rescue Occupant from a Pickup Truck in Periwinkle Creek

(ALBANY, Ore.) - truck in Periwinkle Creek The Albany Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of Pacific Blvd. SE at 10:10 a.m. today to a reported motor vehicle accident with a vehicle in Periwinkle Creek. Firefighters arrived at scene within approximately two minutes to find that a pickup truck with a single occupant had left the roadway and come to rest upright about 15 to 20 feet down in the creek bed in approximately one foot of water.

Firefighters immediately stabilized the vehicle, removed the top of the cab, and worked with specialized tools for about 14 to 16 minutes to extricate the occupant. One person was evaluated at the scene and transported to the hospital. No other injuries resulted from this incident.

Methamphetamine Found In Yamhill County Traffic Stop

(YAMHILL, Ore.) - James Junior Valencia On October 6th The Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team (YCINT) seized approximately 3 ounces of methamphetamine from a man with a lengthy history involving drugs.

James Junior Valencia, 32, of Dayton was the passenger of a vehicle stopped by patrol deputies on Hwy. 240 near Williamson Road. The stop happened at the request of YCINT detectives after developing probable cause.

Serious Injury Traffic Crash West of Lebanon on Highway 34

(LEBANON, Ore.) - smashed prius Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle head-on crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 34 about one mile west of Lebanon. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Albany Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

According to OSP Senior Trooper Brad Hales, on October 5, 2010 at approximately 4:40 p.m. a 2009 Toyota Prius four-door driven by Alma Mix, age 45, from Albany, was eastbound on Highway 34 near milepost 16 when, for an unknown reason, it traveled into the westbound lane collided head-on with a 2010 Toyota pickup driven by Daniel Rackham, age 27, from Albany.

High Speed Race of over 120 MPH North of Woodburn Leads to Two Arrest

The drivers did not know each other

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Left: Nicholas Phillips Right: Valentin Khalaman Two men involved in speed racing on Interstate 5 north of Woodburn Sunday morning both ended up back at a Salem-area jail after they were stopped and arrested following speeds that reach in excess of 120 mph.

On October 3, 2010 at approximately 10:45 a.m. Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Andrew Goffrier was patrolling northbound on Interstate 5 near Woodburn in an unmarked OSP ADEP (Aggressive Driving Enforcement Program) patrol car. As Goffrier was driving in the right northbound lane near milepost 273 he saw a red 1994 BMW 325i car coming up from behind at a high rate of speed. The BMW, followed by a silver 2004 Dodge Neon, slowed down briefly as both vehicles passed the unmarked OSP car and then took off at speeds nearing 100 mph.

(GASTON, Ore.) - rolled truck Oregon State Police (OSP) is completing the investigation into an overturned commercial truck and trailer that dumped a load of household trash onto Highway 47 south of the Washington / Yamhill County line. The crash closed the highway and the involved driver was treated and released for minor injuries.

According to OSP Trooper Dessa DeForest, on October 1, 2010 at approximately 5:19 p.m. a 2007 Freightliner Sprinter van driven by Anglina Wilson, age 36, from Sandy, was eastbound on Highway 26 at Weber Road near milepost 31 moving from the right lane to the left lane to pass another vehicle.

Dump Truck Crashes into Car on SW Hwy 99

Both injured parties are expected to live.

(SHERWOOD, Ore.) - Wrecked Dump truck On Thursday, September 30, 2010, at about 5:37 p.m., Sheriff's deputies were called to a crash on SW Highway 99 and SW Chapman Road. This area is in unincorporated Washington County south of the City of Sherwood.

Deputies investigating the crash determined that a silver Chrysler Concord, driven by 19-year-old Angelica Armijo of Sherwood, pulled out in front of a 1976 Chevrolet C-60 dump truck driven by 52-year-old Ronald Koch of St. Paul.
