Salem ODOT Worker Injured When Car Careens Through Construction Zone

Alcohol consumption by the 17 year old driver appears to be a major contributing factor

(SALEM, Oregon) - Wrecked Honda Accord Shortly after 9:00 PM September 29th, an ODOT worker suffered serious, but not life threatening, injuries when a 1999 Honda Accord driven by a 17 year old male from Salem lost control and drove into a road construction project. The worker, 46 year old Philip Lane of Corvallis, was standing on the side of the roadway on Kuebler Blvd by I-5 when he was struck by the westbound car. After the vehicle struck Lane, it continued until it struck the rear of a street sweeper, causing substantial damage.

Fatal Traffic Crash Highway 20 East of Burns - Update

A pickup taking a left turn was crashed into by a truck attempting to pass them, in a no passing zone.

(BURNS, Ore.) - Crash scene Highway 20 Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Burns work site, with the assistance of an OSP Crash Reconstructionist, are continuing the investigation into Tuesday evening's fatal traffic crash along Highway 20 about 22 miles east of Burns. The collision resulted in the death of an adult female, serious injuries to her husband, and minor injuries to a commercial truck driver.

Highway 26 quadruple fatal

No further information is available at this time and the investigation continues

(WARM SPRINGS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com On September 29, 2010 at about 10:15 p.m. a Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 26 near milepost 107. The vehicle had been seen earlier by witnesses fleeing the scene of a burglary where gunshots had been reported.

When the deputy walked up to the suspect vehicle during the traffic stop, the driver sped away from the deputy at a high rate of speed. The deputy returned to his patrol vehicle and pursued after the suspect vehicle which was out of sight. Approximately a mile and a half west of the traffic stop location, the deputy drove upon the suspect vehicle which had crashed with a Warm Springs Police Department patrol car that was traveling the opposite direction.

Salem to Receive New Left-Turn Signal

The new flashing yellow arrows will clarify for drivers turning left when they must yield

(SALEM, Ore.) - New traffic signal A new traffic signal with a new type of left-tum phasing will be activated on Wednesday, September 29, 20 I 0, at the intersection of Center Street NE and Park Avenue NE.

The new traffic signal will use a flashing yellow arrow to notify left-turning motorists that they must yield to oncoming traffic before turning.

OSP Investigating Highway 99E Crash

(OREGON CITY) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into a critical injury crash Monday afternoon on Highway 99E just north of the Interstate 205 overpass. The southbound lanes of Highway 99E were restricted to one lane for about 3 hours during the investigation.

According to OSP Trooper Ted Moisan, on September 27, 2010 at approximately 3:35 p.m. a 2004 Mazda van driven by Melanie Miekey, age 31, from Canby, was stopped for a red stop light southbound on Highway 99E just north of the Interstate 205 overpass. A 2003 Harley Davidson operated by Harla Jane Lakin, age 55, from Oregon City, crashed into the back of the van ejecting LAKIN over the top of the van and onto the roadway.

Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 99W near McMinnville

Passenger Richard Thomas Leonard Luce, age 24, from Willamina, died from injuries sustained in the crash. He was using safety restraints.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Highway 99 crash September 26 2010 Oregon State Police troopers, with the assistance of a multi-agency team, are continuing the investigation into an early Sunday morning single vehicle fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to another on Highway 99W just north of McMinnville.

Oregon State Police Continues Fatal Crash Investigation

Northbound lanes were blocked until 3:50 p.m.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crash Scene I5 Salem Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday afternoon's two vehicle fatal traffic crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 about one mile south of Market Street in Salem. One driver was killed and a second driver received minor injuries. The deceased driver's name will be released later this evening.

One driver was killed and a second driver was transported with unknown injuries. Northbound traffic is getting through using the right shoulder and tows are dispatched to remove the involved vehicles.
