Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 97 North of Madras

(MADRAS, Ore.) - 2000 Chevrolet Camaro wreck Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into an early Friday morning single vehicle fatal traffic crash along Highway 97 about twenty miles north of Madras. The crash resulted in the death of a 26-year old Madras-area man and serious injuries to a female passenger.

(Port Orford, Oregon) - Crash Scene Highway 101 North of Port Orford A Portland-area woman died Tuesday morning when the pickup she was riding in crashed off Highway 101 about one mile north of Port Orford on the southern Oregon coast. The 57-year old driver was arrested for Manslaughter in the Second Degree Thursday by Oregon State Police (OSP) in relation to the ongoing investigation.

(ROSEBURG, Ore.) - Michael Allen Davis and Minnette Maxine Spence Two suspects were arrested Monday evening after stealing a car in Roseburg and attempting to elude Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) and Oregon State Police (OSP). The suspects' fleeing attempt ended after driving into an open barn in the Dixonville area where they were arrested.

Salem Child Injured in Motorcycle Crash Flown to OHSU

The child suffered serious injuries when he drove onto a street.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Yamaha 90cc A 7-year old Salem boy is being treated at the Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland following a motorcycle-vehicle crash this afternoon.

Marion County Deputy Justin Kinyon received the call of the crash at 5:55pm. Witnesses reported a young child drove a 2000 Yamaha 90cc dirt motorcycle onto the roadway from private property and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Lakeside Drive.

Alcohol Possible Contributing Factor in Serious Crash

Serious injury traffic crash happened on Highway 34 east of Interstate 5.

(LEBANON, Ore.) - Crash 5 June 2011 in Oregon US 34 Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are investigating a Sunday morning two-vehicle serious injury traffic crash that occurred at the intersection of Highway 34 and Seven Mile Lane east of Interstate 5.

Troopers say four people were injured, one critically, and alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor.

(WASHINGTON D.C. AMA) - AMA logo The CPSIA, commonly called the "lead law," was designed to ban small toys with high lead content. However, because of broadly written language in the law, it has been interpreted to apply to all products for kids, including dirtbikes, bicycles, clothing and books.

Action is needed now to exempt kid-sized dirtbikes and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) from the CPSIA.
