(Warren, Oregon) - A Scappoose-area man received non-life threatening injuries Thursday morning after driving off Highway 30 near the Warren Country Store and crashing next to the railroad tracks. Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash.

According to OSP Trooper Daniel Meyer, on August 25, 2011 at approximately 11:23 a.m. a 2006 Subaru driven by Loren A. Klepper, age 71, from Scappoose, was northbound on Highway 30 when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the southbound lanes, traveled through the front lot of Warren Country Store and back across the highway before rolling onto its side near the railroad tracks.

Columbia River Fire & Rescue personnel extricated Klepper from the vehicle and he was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Sciences University. Safety restraint use is pending confirmation.

OSP was assisted at the scene by St. Helens Police Department, Scappoose Police Department, Columbia River Fire & Rescue, and ODOT. Railroad authorities were notified to prevent any train traffic during emergency response and vehicle removal.
