Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor in this incident and the driver is not being cited.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Pedestrian killed Portland Police Officers responded to the area of 122nd and Foster tonight at 7:20 p.m., on a call that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Detective Mary Wheat with Portland Police says when the officers arrived, they found a deceased 44-year-old man at the scene. "The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with police."

Man Falls From Hotel Window

Police believe that this man did fall accidentally from the window and that alcohol was possibly involved.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Death investigation This morning at 3 :00 a.m., Portland Police responded to a hotel located in the 400 Block of NE Holladay Street on a call that someone had fallen from a window in the hotel.

When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man who had fallen from a fourth story window lying in the street below. This man was taken to Emanuel Hospital but later died from his injuries.

Stabbing Death Leads to Murder Charges in Portland (UPDATE)

An adult female stabbing victim was transported immediately to an area hospital, where she died from her injuries.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - handcuffs Police detectives arrested a man on charges of Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, after an early morning stabbing that led to a woman's subsequent death.

Medical Teams International Responds to Crisis in Haiti

Their first team landed safely, the second team will leave Sunday, January 17.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Damage in Haiti Medical Teams International’s first disaster relief team arrived safely in Haiti today with medical personnel from throughout the Pacific Northwest; including Seattle, Portland and Spokane. The second team will leave Sunday, Jan. 17.

The team that arrived today included veteran volunteers Dr. Joe Markee of Portland, Ore. and Dr. Dan Diamond from Bremerton, Wash.

Death Investigation Tied to 2007 Missing Person Investigation

A Missing Persons detective responded to the scene and the case is under investigation.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Death investigation Officers from the Portland Police Bureau say a death investigation that was launched this weekend is associated with 2007 Missing Persons report.

Portland Police Sergeant Greg Stewart says Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers responded to the 14700 block of S.E. Rhone Street on a death investigation.

Victim of Single Car Crash Dies From Injuries 10 Days Later

The initial investigation indicated that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police Lights Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 32300 block of SE Bluff Road on December 20 2009 to investigate a report of a single vehicle crash.

Deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office had initially been dispatched to the scene, and then requested MCSO after determining that the crash had occurred in Multnomah County.

Corrections Deputy Pleads Guilty to Illegal Possession of a Stun Device

The case could end with termination of the employee.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Multnomah County Sheriff's logo Sheriff Daniel Staton and Chief Deputy Carol Hasler received notice today that a Correction Deputy named Steven Douglas Cowles, pled guilty to illegal possession of a Stun Device.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Internal Investigation primary assessment will begin Monday January 4. 2010, according to Lt. Mary Lindstrand, Public Information Officer with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.
