Victim of Single Car Crash Dies From Injuries 10 Days Later

The initial investigation indicated that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 32300 block of SE Bluff Road on December 20 2009 to investigate a report of a single vehicle crash.

Deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office had initially been dispatched to the scene, and then requested MCSO after determining that the crash had occurred in Multnomah County. A MCSO deputy arrived on-scene at 8:46 p.m., medical personnel had already extricated the driver, identified as 46-year old Lesa Ann Clark of Boring, from the vehicle after using the Jaws of Life to cut off the roof.

Ms. Clark was transported by Life flight to Emanuel Hospital. Ms. Clark passed away on December 30th, 2009 as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

Ms.Clark was traveling eastbound on SE Bluff Rd. when her vehicle, a 1993 Mazda MX6 sedan, left the roadway, struck a road sign, and then crashed into a large tree on the south shoulder.

Members of the Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes Team responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

The initial investigation indicated that alcohol was a factor in the crash. Ms. Clark was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The Boring Fire Department, Gresham Fire Department and American Medical Response assisted at the scene.
