Cold Case Team Solves 23-Year Old Homicide Case

This case was a collaborative effort between the Cold Case Unit, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office and the Oregon State Police Forensic Laboratory.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 42-year old Nancy Eileen Converse was murdered in 1987. Cold case investigators in Portland have brought an end to a case more than two decades ole. The Portland Police Bureau reports that on Friday, June 11, 2010, 67-year-old James Samuel Owens was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of 42-year old Nancy Eileen Converse.

The Search for Missing 7-Year Old Kyron Horman Continues

He said the FBI is bringing in a resource tomorrow that will expand the capability of the command center and allow for the additional law enforcement personnel that are continuing to arrive.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Missing seven-year-old Kyron Horman The Search for Kyron Horman continues this afternoon with a large compliment of Local, State, and Federal law enforcement officials along with search and rescue crews from all over the region.

At 4:00 p.m. Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Captain Jason Gates gave a press briefing in which he talked about the ongoing investigation.

Portland Police Seek Suspect in Sexual Assault

The male suspect is described as Hispanic and in his late twenties or early thirties with short wavy hair and brown eyes.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland sexual assault suspect sketch Portland Police say a woman was sexually assaulted outside of her vehicle in the area of Northeast 116th and Sacramento On June 2, 2010 around 12:30 a.m.

The victim told police the man was armed with a box cutter and that he threatened her with it.

Victim Alondra Hernandez-Hernandez is 15-years-old, about 5’2” tall, and she weighs 145 pounds. She has dark hair and dark eyes.

Portland Police Chief Fired Over Shootings, as Officers Respond to Another

Stations report that the new Chief, Mike Reese, is on scene at tonight's shooting.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Police Chief Rosie Sizer Portland's Police Chief Rosie Sizer was fired today by Portland Mayor Sam Adams. He named Mike Reese as Portland's new chief; he has been the agency's Central Precinct commander.

The dismissal of Sizer comes one day after Portland agreed to pay $1.6 million to the family of a mentally ill man who died in police custody.

Inmates on Work Crew Save Deputy`s Life

"According to EMS responders, the inmates' quick thinking and immediate action help to save the deputy's life" -Lt. Mary Lindstrand, MCSO

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 46-year old James Robert Parker, serving time for Contempt of Court, and 45-year old Michael Wayne Smith, down on an Assault charge, thought fast and helped save a deputy's life on a jail work crew. A Multnomah County Sheriff's Office inmate work crew helped save a deputy's life‏ Friday.

Around 3:00 p.m. Friday, an MCSO Corrections deputy was overcome with medical complications while he and his inmate work crew were rendering aid to a stranded motorist.
