Crash Blocks Traffic for Hours on Oregon SR 213

The 3:34 AM crash is under investigation by OSP.

(OREGON CITY) - car accident A two-car head on crash sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning. The accident happened on State Route 213 near Milepost 6, about half a mile south of LeLand Road.

Investigators with Oregon State Police say that around 3:34 AM a Ford Ranger pick up collided with a Honda Accord sedan.

The driver of the Honda Accord was 47-year old Jon McGrath from West Linn. He was taken by Life Flight helicopter to the Oregon Health Sciences University trauma center and is in serious condition.

Patch of Ice Leads to Fatal Wreck

Drivers need to slow down as winter temperatures remain at or below freezing.

(SHERIDAN) - Photo of crash scene on Highway 18 Investigators say a patch of ice led to a fatal crash on Highway 18 Friday evening about three miles east of Sheridan. The 6:40 PM crash involved two vehicles and claimed the life of a 21-year old St. Paul woman.

Oregon State Police troopers say it appears that a westbound 2005 Honda Accord lost control on a patch of ice and slid into the path of an eastbound 1988 Ford pickup truck.

The operator of the Honda, 21-year old Rebecca A. Morrow of St. Paul was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fatal Crash on Highway 22 (UPDATE)

Police say Highway 22 East of Salem is very slick with ice. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution when driving and should remember that shaded areas can be icy.

(MILL CITY) - fatal crash investigation At approximately 1:35 PM today, two Portland Area Residents died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 22 near Mill City. An off-duty medic was at the crash scene and reported the fatalities.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by 27-year old Levi Wilson, of Turner slid out of control, on black ice, in a curve. A 1999 Subaru Legacy made an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision but was struck on the passenger side.

Crash Sends Four to The Hospital

Three others involved in the crash were not injured.

(Salem) - Woodburn police are investigating a two vehicle head on crash that sent four people to the hospital yesterday.

Just after 7:30 PM, the Woodburn Fire District responded to a two vehicle head on crash in the 1400 block of Silverton Ave in Woodburn.

On arrival the crew found the two vehicles blocking the road.

Fatal Traffic Crash on Oregon Highway 20 East of Santiam

The winter roads claimed a Salem woman Friday afternoon when she lost control of her car on the ice and crashed nearly head-on with a commercial truck.

(SANTIAM JUNCTION) - fatal car accident At about 12:40 PM Friday, 20-year old Kara Marie Copeland from southeast Salem was westbound on Highway 20 near milepost 78 negotiating a slight right hand curve on the ice/snow covered road when it lost control.

Police say that the 2001 Toyota Corolla she was driving crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound 2001 Volvo truck towing a trailer. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the westbound lane, about three miles east of the Santiam Junction.

Kara Copeland was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was using safety restraints, and the car’s airbags deployed.

DUII Arrests, Fatal Crashes Up in Oregon Over Christmas Holiday

Expect extra DUII patrols on New Years Eve.

(SALEM) - Oregon State Police car Traffic-related deaths were slightly higher this year, and DUII arrests by Oregon State Police troopers were definitely higher, according to preliminary information gathered related to the Christmas holiday period.

OSP, ODOT and local police agencies are preparing for this weekend's New Year's Holiday extended weekend.

Preliminary information from ODOT's Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), between 6:00 PM, Friday, December 22nd, and 11:59 PM, Monday, December 25th, four people died in two separate fatal traffic crashes over the 78-hour holiday period.

Fatal Traffic Crash Closes Oregon`s Hwy 22 West of 99W

Highway 22 is closed, and is estimated to be reopened by midnight.

(RICKREALL) - Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred late Thursday afternoon on Highway 22W west of Highway 99W. One person is deceased and three others are either critical or serious. No names or additional information is expected to be released until Friday morning.

Preliminary information indicates a Nissan Sentra with three female occupants was eastbound on Highway 22 when it was struck head-on by a westbound Ford pickup with two male occupants.

The female driver of the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One Fatality When Three Teens Crash Car

As of 1:39 PM Thursday, Kyle was upgraded to Fair Condition.

(SALEM) - Just before 1:00 AM Wednesday, the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a one-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Hylo Road S.E. Salem. Upon arriving, deputies observed that a white 1992 Chevrolet four-door vehicle had left the roadway and impacted a tree.

Three occupants were involved, the 17-year old driver, Joseph Mode of Salem was transported to OHSU with serious injuries, 15-year old Brandon Rockwell, also from Salem, was pronounced deceased at the scene and the remaining passenger 18-year-old Kyle LaValley of Washington, was transported to Salem Hospital with unknown injuries.

Victim Identified in Dec 6th Fatal Traffic Crash

Fire personnel responded to the scene to put out what was originally reported as a brush fire, when they discovered the car was on fire.

(ALBANY) - The victim of the December 6th single vehicle fatal traffic accident on I-5 south has been identifired as 24-year old Elena Carmen Flores, from McChord AFB in Washington.

On December 6th at about 9:34 PM, a 2005 Toyota Corolla four-door displaying a Washington license plate was soutbhound on Interstate 5 near milepost 240.

For an unknown reason the car drove off the right shoulder and down a slight embankment, through blackberry bushes and continued about 300 feet before coming to a stop. Initial investigation indicates the car's gasoline tank may have ruptured causing the fire that fully engulfed the car.

BE AWARE! I-5 Southbound Closed Due to Rollover Accident

Traffic is in a diversion at mile point 180.5 while construction crews rebuild an I-5 bridge.

(CRESWELL) - A semi truck wreck on Interstate 5 southbound about 1.5 miles south of Creswell will keep the freeway closed until approximately 3:00 PM Monday.

The truck, hauling a trailer filled with about 30 tons of almonds, crashed into a concrete construction barrier at about 8:30 AM Monday.

The trailer came to rest on its side, blocking both lanes of the interstate at mile point 180.5.
