Former Oregon Man Arrested for 1996 Murder of Kathy Clifton

The television show “The Jane Doe Murders”, documented the lengthy process of how Kathy was identified.

(POLK COUNTY, Ore.) - Clifton murder On September 1, 1996, the skeletonized remains of an adult female were found in the hills overlooking the Mill Creek area in rural Polk County, Oregon.

In 2019, the remains were determined to be that of Kathy Thomas Clifton.

Tree Removal Crew Extinguishes Fire Near Idanha

Quick response prevented the fire from growing.

(IDANHA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The crew was working on hazard tree removal along Highway 22 when a fire ignited near Idanha on the Marion County/Linn County line.

The crew's quick response was instrumental in getting the fire under control and preventing damage to nearby structures. Fire crews from as far away as Mt. Oregon`s Middle Fork Complex Fire Update

Level 1 and 3 evacuation notices have been issued by Lane County.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon wildfire 9 miles north of Oakridge, there are 12 fires burning, known as the Middle Fork Complex fires.

550 fire Personnel are working to stop the fires which have reached 13,611 acres. Just 9% of the perimeter is contained at this time.

A double-stabbing left one man dead outside of Salem, Oregon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Oregon stabbing About 3 a.m., Friday the 13th, Marion County deputies responded to a multiple stabbing in a rural area just east of Salem.

When detectives arrived, they determined one person was deceased and another victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Middle Fork Complex Update and Evacuations

LEVEL 3 (GO NOW) EVACUATION NOTICE: All homes, campgrounds and dispersed recreation along Forest Service Road 18 (Big Fall Creek Road) east of the intersection with Forest Service Road 1821, including Puma Campground and Bedrock Campground.

(LANE COUNTY, Ore.) - Steve Hawkins Twelve individual fires make up the Middle Fork Complex, with seven fires at 100% containment. The most active fire in the complex is the Gales Creek Fire at 1,822-acres with 0% containment located south of the Forest Road 18 near the 1835 road.

The 333-acre Kwis Fire is the second largest fire in the complex and is 25% contained. The Kwis Fire is the closest fire to Oakridge, located south of Forest Road 24 near Salmon Creek.
