Air and Ground Resources Battle 35-acre Wildfire in Douglas County

The cause of the Days Creek Fire is under investigation.

(CANYONVILLE, Ore.) - Days Creek Fire Four Type 2 helicopters and one Type 1 helicopter have been working on the fire, in addition to two large air tankers and two single-engine air tankers.

Equipment and personnel from industrial landowners, industrial operators and the Umpqua National Forest are assisting with suppression efforts.

Oregon Paddlers Must Carry Permit August 1st

Failure to show the permit is a Class D violation with a $115 fine.

(SALEM, Ore.) - paddle board Paddlers of non-motorized boats will need to carry a Waterway Access Permit beginning August 1.

The permit is required for all non-motorized boats 10 feet and longer and replaces the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Permit.

Crash into Shore Leaves Two Children Hospitalized

Anyone with information, video, or photographs related to the crash should call Detective Pyle at 541-967-3950.

(SWEET HOME, Ore.) - Lewis Creek Park The crash occurred about 2:00 p.m., while many were in the swimming area at Lewis Creek Park on Foster Lake east of Sweet Home.

A 23-year old male was operating the personal watercraft in the area when he lost control and the watercraft sped off toward shore striking several people with the worst injuries to two minor children.

Salem Man Arrested for Shooting Police Officer

Salem Police Detective Angus “Scotty” Emmons was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Oregon Salem Police detectives were in their vehicle after conducting an investigation when an unknown vehicle drove up next to the detectives and several shots were fired at the detectives’ vehicle.

One of the bullets penetrated the car, striking a detective in the arm.

Drugs and Stolen Fire Equipment Discovered in Hillsboro

Suspect Mitchell was discovered to be already in custody at the Washington County Correctional Facility.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Tanner Mitchell CRT investigators located and recovered nearly all the property stolen from the West Valley Fire Department burglary which included medical supplies, radios, and protective equipment.

In addition to the stolen property, a commercial drug amount of methamphetamine, illicit prescription pills, and evidence of delivery of a controlled substance was located.

Oregon reports 4 new deaths and 217 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 COVID-19 has claimed four more lives in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 224.

The Oregon Health Authority reported at 12:01 a.m. today that there are 217 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 10,817.

Five More Oregonians Added to COVID-19 Death Toll

Oregon reports 218 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases, 5 new deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 Oregon Health Authority reported 218 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 bringing the state total to 10,605.

An outbreak of 22 cases of COVID-19 has been reported at Columbia River Processing in Morrow County. The cases include all persons linked to the outbreak, which may include household members and other close contacts to an employee.
