31 Percent Increase in Oregon COVID Cases

Oregon reports 239 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases, 3 new deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Oregon Health Authority’s COVID-19 Weekly Report, released today, shows increased daily cases and declines in hospitalizations and deaths in comparison to the previous week.

OHA reported 2,272 new daily cases of COVID-19 during the week of Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14. That represents a 31% increase over the previous week.

Along Came Trudy Restaurant in Springfield Fined for COVID-19 Violations

Oregon restaurant fined over $9,000 for COVID-19 violations, including willfully exposing workers.

(SALEM, Ore.) - In one of the violations, Along Came Trudy LLC willfully continued to potentially expose workers to the virus despite a public health order limiting the capacity for indoor dining to zero in an “extreme risk” county.

The total fine of $9,215 is the result of an inspection launched in response to multiple complaints about Along Came Trudy.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Suspected in Death of Father and Daughter

Each year in the United States there are at least 430 accidental deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Detectives believe the two deaths were the result of carbon monoxide poisoning from a propane heater being used inside the trailer. Two animals, a dog and a cat, were also found dead inside.

The victims have been identified as 50-year old Richard Yaple, from Salem, and his daughter 17-year old Hannah Yaple, from Keizer
