Western Oregon Dance Students to Perform at The National College Dance Festival

The seven WOU student performers are Latoya Shantia Lovely of Belleglade, Fla.; Michael Coleman of North Bend; Samuel Hobbs of Beaverton; Corale Lamont of Monroe; Jessica Sanford of Salem; Brynn Sylvester of Newberg and Jessica Evans of North Bend.

(MONMOUTH) - Seven Western Oregon University dance students have been selected to perform as part of the National College Dance Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. from May 16 to 18.

Holly Ivy-Wyllie with First Wednesday says organizers have the event that runs through September up and running. She says they teamed up with the A.C. Gilbert House for May, to focus on garden art and assist them with their `secret garden` ticket sales.

10,000 Expected to Attend Rally Monday

(SALEM) - State Capitol building Salem Oregon Organizers of a pro-immigration rally planned at the state capitol Monday say they expect 10,000 people to attend the event. Local police agencies are working with the groups planning the event and another peaceful demonstration is expected.

The rally happens Monday, May 1st on the capitol grounds along Court Street in Salem. The highly publicized event begins with the rally in front of the Capitol Building at 11:00 AM, followed by a march through some area city streets that is scheduled to begin about 1:30 PM.

McMinnville Prepares for Annual UFO Festival

(MCMINNVILLE) - 2005 UFO Festival Parade The McMinnville Downtown Association (MDA) and McMenamins Hotel Oregon once again welcome all UFO believers, aliens, skeptics and the like for the annual UFO parade and UFO Fest.

The event, which celebrates a 1950 UFO citing on a farm just outside of McMinnville, will be held May 19th and 20th, in Historic Downtown McMinnville.

The UFO Parade will make its annual trek down Third Street on Saturday the 20th. The MDA is looking for parade entries to compete in the areas of Best Alien Float, Best Alien Group, and Best Alien Male & Female (who will also be named King & Queen of the parade), and Best Alien Child.
