McMinnville UFO Parade Looms Closer

(MCMINNVILLE) - The McMinnville, Oregon community once again welcome all UFO believers, aliens, skeptics and the like for the annual UFO parade and UFO Fest. The UFO Parade will make its annual trek down Third Street on Saturday the 20th.

The McMinnville Downtown Associations Cyndi Fusek says the event will be a real blast, "Celebrate with us this year as we welcome Mr. Mac High, Cameron Schmidt, and fellow contestants as Grand Marshall`s of the parade! We have two marching bands from McMenamins, the McMenamins Marching band and the Hammerheads with March Forth, beginning and ending the parade."

She says Vivid Curve, a didgeridoo band out of Portland will help children in creating their very own instruments – and then bring all down to march in the parade. The Klingon`s from Salem`s Star Trek Club will make an appearance, and Columbus Elementary will entertain the crowds with twelve unicyclists.

Show-Biz 2006 is a Hit

This annual event attracts thousands every spring

(SALEM) - Bonnie King interviews Chamber Executive Director Mike McLaren during Show-Biz Show-Biz 2006, the Salem Chamber of Commerce`s biggest event of the year, took place Thursday at the State Fairgrounds. Thousands of people streamed through the doors for the five hour event where hundreds of businesses came together under one roof.

Dogs Rule, Humans Play

(LINCOLN CITY) - Dogs of all kinds will rule the day, while their humans play, at the Mutt Masters Dog Show and Olympics on Saturday, May 20th at Taft Middle School in Lincoln City.

Registration for the event begins at 11:00 AM with contests from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. Proceeds from Mutt Masters will benefit the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and the Oregon Coast Humane Society.

Keizer Police Announce Closures for Upcoming Iris Parade

(KEIZER) - Keizer Iris Parade The Keizer Police Department will close River Road on Saturday, May 20th for the 56th annual Iris Parade.

Beginning at 9:00 AM, River Road will be closed from Lockhaven Drive to Plymouth Drive. Traffic north of the street closure will be diverted to eastbound Lockhaven Drive. Traffic south of the street closure will be diverted to Cherry Avenue via Plymouth Drive.

Chemeketa TRIO Students Partnering With Homeless and At-Risk Teens In Salem

(SALEM) - Chemeketa TRIO student mentors are partnering with homeless Salem youth to raise funds for HOME Youth and Resource Center summer activities.

A fundraiser sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd, from 9:00 AM -3:00 PM at the HOME Youth and Resource Center, 625 Union Street NE, Salem, OR.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit summer activities for the homeless and at-risk youth.

Letter Carriers to Collect Food, Stamp Out Hunger

(PORTLAND AP) - People from Oregon and Washington can help the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp out Hunger by placing food donations by their mailbox next Saturday, May 13th.

Close to three-thousand letter carriers throughout Oregon and Clark County, Washington, will join with letter carriers across America. They will collect donations of nonperishable food from their postal customers during the annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.
