(MCMINNVILLE) - The McMinnville Downtown Association (MDA) and McMenamins Hotel Oregon once again welcome all UFO believers, aliens, skeptics and the like for the annual UFO parade and UFO Fest. The event, which celebrates a 1950 UFO citing on a farm just outside of McMinnville, will be held May 19th and 20th, in Historic Downtown McMinnville. The UFO Parade will make its annual trek down Third Street on Saturday the 20th. The MDA is looking for parade entries to compete in the areas of Best Alien Float, Best Alien Group, and Best Alien Male & Female (who will also be named King & Queen of the parade), and Best Alien Child. The judging will take place at 11:00 AM, followed by the parade at 1:00 PM. The Critter Cabana Pet Shop of Newberg will be hosting an Alien Pet Contest Saturday the 20th at 2:00 PM at the US Bank Plaza, Downtown McMinnville. Organizers encourage everyone to come and root for their favorite alien pet. More information and the parade application are available at the MDA website: www.downtownmcminnville.com under the heading `Events" or from the McMinnville Downtown Association at 503-472-3605. A $5 entry fee and a Hold Harmless Agreement must accompany entries, which are due by May 15th. The parade will be run in conjunction with McMenamins Hotel Oregon two-day UFO Fest that begins the evening of Friday the 19th and runs through the 20th.
