I-5 Northbound in Eugene Closed Over Haz Mat Crash

A detour was established early to help get northbound traffic around area while lanes remain closed for possibly several hours, motorists are advised to expect delays.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - crash investigation Oregon State Police troopers are on Interstate 5 northbound where travel lanes south of the Highway 58 junction near milepost 188 in Eugene area completely closed

They say that at approximately 5:15 AM, a commercial truck rolled onto its side and is blocking all northbound lanes.

Gasoline Prices Dipping Nationwide as Oregon`s Rises

Diesel prices...especially in Oregon... are also on the rampage. Drivers are paying up 30 cents more in the past month, to $3.34/gal.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Man pumping gas The national average is down, but Oregon's average cost for gas has gone up. At $2.90 a gallon for regular, Oregon's statewide average gasoline price has jumped from 11th to 8th highest in the nation.

"While the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline went down a half cent to $2.76, Oregon's statewide average jumped upward by three cents to $2.90. Topping off that news, crude oil hit an all-time high $87 per barrel Tuesday morning."

Man Dies in Crash on Highway 126W West of Eugene

Oregon State Police troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Lane County District Attorney's Office.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Fatal crash Police say a Veneta-area man died Tuesday evening after his vehicle was struck by another vehicle on Highway 126W about five miles west of Eugene. Oregon State Police are investigating the fatal crash that also resulted in six other people being transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Eugene Driver Cited After Female Passenger Falls Out of Moving Car

The 17-year old girl suffered serious injuries.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Passenger injured A 23-year old Eugene man was cited for DUII, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor after an early Thursday morning incident that seriously injured his 17-year old girlfriend when she fell out an open window of the car he was driving while rounding a curve.

Thursday at approximately 5:00 AM, a state police dispatch center received reports of a 17-year old girl being seriously injured in a traffic-related incident somewhere between Eugene and Florence.

ARMED & DANGEROUS: Reward Offered for Bandana Bandit Bank Robber

The reward is offered by the Oregon Financial Institution Security Task Force.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Photos of A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person responsible for a series of armed bank robberies in Eugene, Oregon between March and August 2007.

Investigators believe the “Bandana Bandit”, so named for covering his face with a bandana, is responsible for at least three bank robberies from March 2nd to August 20th. Upon entering the bank, the “Bandana Bandit” displays a handgun and verbally demands money from victimized bank tellers.
