Oregon Man Killed in Tractor Rollover

The investigation indicated the tractor had slid off the road, which was slick and covered in six to eight inches of snow, approximately 30 yards down an embankment.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Death investigation Linn County deputies are investigating the death of a Eugene man who died yesterday when the tractor he was operating slid over an embankment and crushed him.

Sheriff Tim Mueller says 24-year old Brian Swenson of Eugene was clearing a road to a hydro electric plant near Yukwah Campground, approximately 19 miles east of Sweet Home on Highway 20 when the accident happened.

OMSI has Front Row Seats for Nasa Space Shuttle Atlantis Launch

Oregon Astronaut Stanley Love of Eugene is on board.

(PORTLAND, Ore..) - Space Shuttle Atlantis OMSI will offer space exploration enthusiasts a front row seat to watch Stanley Love from Eugene, Oregon and NASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis STS-122 launch into space Thursday, February 7th at 11:00 AM.

The scheduled 11:45 AM PDT launch and flight to the International Space Station will be shown in OMSI's planetarium via satellite on NASA TV. Admission to the televised launch is free with paid museum admission.

Services for Eugene Soldier Set for Sunday

At the request of the family of U.S. Army soldier, Sgt. Eric Everett Rynearson, the following information is being made available.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Oregon Army Sergeant Eric E. Rynearson An Oregon Army Sergeant named Eric E. Rynearson lost his life in a motorcycle crash in Hawaii on January 19th and his family has released a few details about this soldier who hailed from a family with a history of service in the U.S. Army.

1st Lt. Mark Major with the U.S. Army says the crash occurred when he lost control, went off the roadway and collided into a guardrail. Major says the accident is under investigation.

Crash North of Eugene Leaves Man Critically Injured

One man was ejected from his car by the force of the crash.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police are investigating a Friday morning two-vehicle crash on Highway 99W north of Eugene that left a Eugene-area man critically injured. Police say the other involved driver was operating his pickup with suspended driving privileges and was not injured.

The crash happened at 7:07 AM when a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup driven by 33-year old Kenneth T. Ford of Springfield, was northbound on Highway 99W in the left lane approaching the intersection with E. Enid Road, according to State Police Spokesman Greg Hastings.

National Gas Prices Inch Down Below $3 per Gallon

The price of gas should remain stable for the holidays.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas station attendant in Oregon "Gas prices continue to inch down." AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says, "The national average drops five cents this week and is below $3 per gallon for the first time since November 4th.

Oregon's statewide average is down four cents to $3.07 per gallon. Gas prices peaked in mid-November as the price of crude oil approached $100 per barrel, compared with about $89 per barrel today. OPEC's decision last week not to raise production did not cause prices to increase because crude oil and gas inventories are healthy, and demand has been flattening out.

One Dies in Crash on Beltline Road

Police included safety tips on who wrong way drivers are, and what to watch out for.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Fatal crash in Eugene, Oregon 12-9-07 One person died and two others received non-life threatening injuries Sunday morning when a wrong way driver collided with another car on Beltline Road west of River Road in Eugene.

Next of kin have been notified and Oregon State Police have included some driving safety tips at the end of the news release.

OSU Wins Oregon`s Civil War Game

This year's Civil War was a memorable event and had all of the usual rivalry.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - After an initial surge, Oregon State seemed to slip in the first half of the Civil War game today, but showed their fans that the second half would be different. The first half of the Civil War was memorable and had many great plays.

The Beavers looked like it was going to be their game at first as they brought the score to 21-7 in the second quarter. But as the game neared halftime, Oregon scored two touchdowns to bring the 21-7 score to 21-21.

In the fourth quarter, with 14:43 left in the game, the score is tied 28-28.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Ducks and Beavers The first half of the Civil War will be the talk when the week begins. As the game neared halftime, Oregon scored two touchdowns to bring the 21-7 score to 21-21.

Oregon's Strong man singlehandedly without interruption made the touchdown and the extra point that tied them with the Beavers before halftime.
