Portland Blanks Tennessee; Up Next Rival UCLA

Portland ran its shutout streak to a school record nine games.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Michelle EnyeartSophomore Michelle Enyeart scored two goals and freshman Sophie Schmidt added two assists as the Portland Pilots defeated the Tennessee Lady Vols 3-0 in a NCAA third round match at Merlo Field on Saturday.

The Pilots (18-3-0) advance to set up another rematch with the UCLA Bruins, a 2-1 winner over Virginia on Friday.

UCLA Continues Oregon's Fall From Grace

Should UCLA upset USC and Arizona top No. 7 Arizona State the same day, the Bruins (6-5, 5-3) would get the Rose Bowl bid.

(PASADENA, Calif.) - Brady Leaf Down to a pair of redshirt freshmen to play quarterback, the once-mighty Oregon Ducks had absolutely no chance against UCLA.

Freshman Kai Forbath kicked three field goals, including a career-long 54-yarder, and the Bruins took advantage of No. 9 Oregon's plight to hand the Ducks a 16-0 setback Saturday - their first shutout loss in more than 22 years.

Osborne Fires Callahan as Nebraska Head Coach

Callahan posted a 27-22 record in four seasons at Nebraska.

(LINCOLN, Neb.) - Bill CallahanUniversity of Nebraska Interim Athletic Director Tom Osborne announced changes in the football coaching staff today.

The contract for NU Head Football Coach Bill Callahan has been terminated and all nine Husker assistant coaches’ contracts also were terminated.

Western Oregon Knocks Off #15 Montevallo, 80-73

Western Oregon, now 2-0 on the season, will play tournament host North Dakota on Saturday at 6 p.m.

(GRAND FORKS, ND ) - Brad KrichevskyWestern Oregon used a balanced attack to overcome a halftime deficit, defeating No. 15 nationally ranked Montevallo (Ala.) 80-73 at the University of North Dakota Thanksgiving Classic on Friday.

Senior guard Brad Krichevsky led five Wolves in double figures with 16 points. Travis Kuhns and Liam Hughes both had 14 points.

Willamette Uses Late Run to Defeat Southern Oregon, 56-47

The Bearcats and Southern Oregon were tied, 45-45, with 5:57 remaining, but Willamette closed the game with an 11-2 run.

(ASHLAND, Ore. ) - Mike SmithSophomore post Cameron Mitchell scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, helping Willamette University defeat Southern Oregon University, 56-47, on Friday, in the opening round of the Flagship Inn Classic, hosted by the Raiders at McNeal Pavilion.

The Bearcats will take on Oregon Institute of Technology on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. (PST), in the second round of the tournament. OIT defeated Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho), 82-67, in Friday's first game to improve to 7-1.

Corban Wins Wild One Over William Jessup

Corban junior Kyle Masten hit the game-tying three-pointer with 3.6 seconds remaining in regulation.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Kyle MastenLed by junior Wade Douglas' game-high 27 points and 11 rebounds, Corban's men's basketball team had four players score in double figures as the Warriors defeated William Jessup, 108-99, in double overtime Friday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Ben Sisler, freshman Ian Logan, and Kyle Masten chipped in with 22, 19, and 17 points respectively for the Warriors (2-2).

Lady Warriors Rout William Jessup, 83-60

With the win, Corban improves to 1-3 on the season.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Kailey BostwickA quartet of Warriors scored in double figures led by senior Jessica Steigleman's game-highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds, as Corban's women's basketball team picked up its first victory of the season, 83-60, over William Jessup Friday evening inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Along with Steigleman, junior Kailey Bostwick and sophomore Emily Goette added 17 points apiece with Bostwick handing out a game-high eight assists.

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) - Kaela ChapdelaineOregon advanced to the championship game of the Holiday Inn & Suites Express Albuquerque Midtown Tournament Championship game after a 64-51 victory over Coppin State at The Pit on Friday night.

Senior Kaela Chapdelaine led Oregon to victory in a valiant, 19-point, 11-rebound performance – the first double-double of the fifth-year senior’s career.

Beavers Rally Past Idaho State, 56-41

The game started slowly for the Beavers as the Bengals led by as many as 14 in the first half and 26-19 at the break.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Seth TarverSeth Tarver scored a career-high 21 points and had eight rebounds as Oregon State defeated Idaho State 56-41 Friday night.

Freshman Sean Carter added 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting for the Beavers (2-2) as Oregon State won its second straight contest.
