SALEM, Ore. - A quartet of Warriors scored in double figures led by senior Jessica Steigleman's game-highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds, as Corban's women's basketball team picked up its first victory of the season, 83-60, over William Jessup Friday evening inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. Corban shot a season-best 29-for-61 (47.5%) from the field, including making their first three-pointers of the season at home as the Warriors went 6-for-13 (46.2%) from behind the arc. The Warriors held a halftime lead of 20 points (51-31), while outscoring its opponent by a mere three points over the final twenty minutes en route to securing Corban's first win of the season by the final margin of 23 points (83-60). Along with Steigleman, junior Kailey Bostwick and sophomore Emily Goette added 17 points apiece with Bostwick handing out a game-high eight assists. On the boards, Steigleman pulled down 28.6% of the Warriors' rebounds with senior Mandy Peterson and Goette adding 9 and 6 boards respectively. For William Jessup, Kia Shaw led the Rocklin-based Warriors with a team-high 14 points and five rebounds. Tracy Malone and Hayleigh Thomson chipped in with 11 points apiece, while Thomson and Azizi Dotson grabbed 5 and 4 boards respectively. As a team, Corban aided its winning causing shooting 19-for-24 (79.2%) from the free throw line while William Jessup was 21-for-63 (33.3%) from the field, 5-for-18 (27.8%) from beyond the arc, and 13-for-25 (52.0%) from the free throw line. With the win, Corban improves to 1-3 on the season while William Jessup is still without a victory this season at 0-5 overall. The Warriors are next in action on Tuesday, November 27th, when they host cross town rival and NCAA Division III member Willamette University beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E.
