Taylor Leads Linfield Past Concordia, 91-79

Joel Paul and K.C. Wiser each added 12 points for the Wildcats.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Steve Taylor Steve Taylor sank 9 of 11 shots from the field on his way to game-high 24 points as the Linfield Wildcats ran past the Concordia Cavaliers 91-79 in nonconference basketball action Saturday night at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

Taylor paced a solid wire-to-wire victory for NCAA Division III member Linfield (3-1), which won its home opener by double digits over the NAIA Cavaliers (2-2).

Aggies Hold Off Vikings Late Rally

The Vikings were paced by 13 points and five rebounds by Scott Morrison.

(DAVIS, Calif. ) - portland state Kyle Brucculeri’s big night was highlighted by clutch free throws down the stretch as he led his UC Davis Aggies to a 76-68 win over the Portland State Vikings.

Brucculeri entered the game averaging just six points, but tallied 26 against the Vikings. The last six came in succession at the free throw line in the final 1:02 of the game, and sealed the win for the Aggies.

Lady Wildcats Run Record to 4-0

Deirdre Chew scored a game-high 15 points for Pomona-Pitzer, which dropped to 0-5 for the season.

(POMONA, Calif. ) - Courtney McFaddenCasey Stepan scored a team-high 12 points, carrying Linfield to a convincing 64-50 nonconference victory over winless Pomona-Pitzer Saturday night in the second round of action at the David Wells Classic.

Courtney McFadden added 10 points, six rebounds and a pair of steals. Stepan added six rebounds and four steals in 29 minutes.

Missouri, West Virginia 1-2 in AP Poll

No. 3 Ohio State, Georgia and LSU complete the top five.

(NEW YORK) - Chase DanielMissouri is No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 for the second time in school history. The Tigers' only other time at No. 1 lasted a week in 1960.

Missouri became the fourth team this season -- joining Southern California, LSU and Ohio State -- to hold the top ranking, a day after beating Kansas 36-28 to earn a spot in the Big 12 championship game. ranking ever.

West Virginia moved up to No. 2 on Sunday, its highest ranking ever, and became the eighth team this season to be ranked second. The Mountaineers' 66-21 victory over Connecticut earned them the Big East title and knocked the Huskies out of the rankings.

Missouri will face Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship next Saturday.

(KANSAS CITY) - Missouri Kansas gameDespite 349 yards passing from sophomore quarterback Todd Reesing and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing), No. 4 Missouri upended second-ranked Kansas, 36-28, in the annual Border Showdown game played Saturday evening at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Missouri QB Chase Daniel threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers figure to go to the top of the BCS standings and become the new No. 1 in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 1960.

Lady Bearcats Hold On to Defeat Concordia, 72-66

The Bearcats will travel across town on Tuesday to take on Corban College.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Alex ZennanWillamette University led by just a single point with 3:27 remaining, but the Bearcats outscored Concordia University, 9-4 the rest of the way, as WU held off the Cavaliers for a 72-66 win on Saturday at Cone Field House.

Alex Zennan led Willamette with 19 points, while Tracie Nygaard added 16 points.

Oregon Tech Defeats Willamette to Win Flagship Inn Classic Title

Kyler McClary scores 19 points for Bearcats.

(ASHLAND, Ore. ) - Kyler McClaryJguwon Hogges and Ryan Fiegi each scored 24 points and hit a combined 18 of 29 field goals, leading Oregon Institute of Technology past Willamette University, 74-63, in the second round of the Flagship Inn Classic, Saturday, in Ashland, Ore.

The Hustlin' Owls won the tournament title with a 2-0 record and improved to 8-1 on the season. Willamette completed the tournament at 1-1, while falling to 2-2 overall.

Lewis & Clark Knocks Off Corban, 77-70

For Lewis & Clark, Mark Robinowitz led the Pioneers with a team-high 17 points.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Wade DouglasJunior Wade Douglas scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, but it was not enough as Corban's men's basketball team fell, 77-70, to NCAA Division III member Lewis & Clark Saturday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Despite shooting a mere 11-for-35 (31.4%) in the opening half, Corban trailed by only six points (38-32) heading into the halftime break.

Pilots Defeat Idaho State; Meet Oregon State Sunday

The Pilots next play the Oregon State Beavers at 4:00 p.m. at Gill Coliseum on Sunday.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Sherrard WatsonPortland senior Sherrard Watson scored a game-high 18 points as the Pilots defeated the Idaho State Bengals 76-52 in a non-conference men’s basketball game played at Gill Coliseum on Saturday night.

UP sophomore Nik Raivio added 15 points on six-for-nine shooting. Chron Tatum was the only Bengal in double figures with 14 points.
