(EUGENE, Ore. ) - University of Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon is one of five finalists announced by the Walter Camp Football Foundation for its 2007 Player of the Year award.
Four of the five finalists are quarterbacks, with Missouri’s Chase Daniel, Boston College’s Matt Ryan and Florida’s Tim Tebow joining Dixon - along with Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Scott O’Gallagher’s 29 points and 10 rebounds lifted Warner Pacific to a 104-92 nonconference victory over visiting Linfield Tuesday night.
Linfield (3-2) was led by 25 points from Erik Olson, as well as 14 points off the bench from Cody Tesoro. Josh Jackson had a big night on both ends of the court for the Knights, picking up 19 points and a game-high seven steals.

Jeffers Sports Center.
Junior Kailey Bostwick and sophomore Emily Goette each scored a team-high 13 points, while senior Jessica Steigleman and junior Margie Lou Correll added 11 points each.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Sean Taylor, a free safety for the Washington Redskins, died early on Tuesday, a day after being shot by an intruder in his Miami-area home.
On Tuesday, the team painted No. 21 -- Taylor's jersey number -- in the grass parking area on the right side of the road entering Redskins Park. Some fans knelt at the edge of the painted number and prayed. Some left flowers, cards and signs memorializing Taylor.

(CHARLOTTEVILLE, VA) - Virginia football coach Al Groh was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year in voting by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association for the Associated Press.
Picked to finish fourth in the ACC’s Coastal Division in the preseason, Groh guided the Cavaliers to a 9-3 regular-season mark, including a 6-2 league record.

ESPN2 will televise the game nationally.
Oregon will see a lot of the "Little Apple" this week. In addition to Thursday’s basketball game, the 13th-ranked UO volleyball team was sent to Manhattan for NCAA Tournament First and Second Round action.
Down the road, Oregon and Kansas State have signed a contract for a series in football in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Corban College senior midfielder Sarah Whaley was named as a member of the NAIA All-Region I Second Team.
In four seasons as a Warrior, the 5-foot-6 Sam Barlow High School graduate accounted for five goals and 10 assists in 66 games. While donning the navy and gold, Whaley tallied 20 total points from her midfield position.
