Carpenter Rallies Arizona State Past Oregon State

Yvenson Bernard rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown for the Beavers.

(TEMPE, Ariz.) - ASU sports logoA fast start for Oregon State wasn't enough as Arizona State responded by scoring 31 second half points to rally for the win.

Rudy Carpenter threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns and the Sun Devils defeated Oregon State 44-32 on Saturday night, rallying from a 19-point first-quarter hole.

Carpenter completed 25 of 36 passes and threw an interception.

Dixon's 5 TD's Leads No. 13 Oregon Past Stanford

Oregon WR Cameron Colvin had a career day with 136 yards on eight catches and a touchdown.

(STANFORD, Calif. ) - Ducks Dennis DixonDennis Dixon threw a career-high four touchdowns and rushed for another score, and No. 13 Oregon scored 34 straight points and shut out Stanford in the second half of a 55-31 victory Saturday night.

Jeremiah Johnson scored the go-ahead touchdown midway through the third quarter and Jonathan Stewart, who rushed for 160 yards on 19 carries, also scored as the Ducks (4-0, 1-0 Pac-10) started with four wins for the second straight season.

Oregon, the Pac-10 leader in scoring and total offense, was held to 48 yards during the second quarter, when they allowed 28 points to Stanford.

Oregon State Men’s Soccer Blanks Loyola, 1-0

Justin Woodard’s second career goal propels Beavers to win.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Justin WoodardJustin Woodard’s goal in the 38th minute was all the Oregon State men’s soccer team would need as the Beavers stopped Loyola (Md), 1-0, in the finale of the OSU Zaher/Hensor Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

With the win, Oregon State improved to 3-5 on the season while the loss dropped Loyola (Md), which was receiving votes in the national polls, to 6-2 on the year.

Mustangs Rally to Beat Western Oregon, 24-17

WOU QB Mark Thorson completed 21 of 45 passes for 260 yards and one touchdown.

(SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.) - Isaiah SmithCal Poly scored 24 consecutive points to overcome a 10-0 deficit, but still had to withstand a late Western Oregon charge to win a 24-17 non-conference football game in front of 8,837 fans at Alex Spanos Stadium.

Isaiah Smith had eight catches for 156 yards and a touchdown in a monster effort, while the Wolves’ running game was led by Ben Kuenzi with 78 yards on 20 carries and one score.

In a game with large momentum swings, WOU struck first on a one-yard run by Ben Kuenzi, capping a 9-play, 61-yard drive.

Lady Warriors Fall to Westminster in OT

The loss drops Corban to 4-6-0 overall, though they remain 2-1-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Megan WaunchDespite a goal from senior Megan Waunch and sophomore Jessica Matthews, Corban's women's soccer team could not overcome a heart-breaking overtime goal by the Lady Griffins of Westminster and fell, 3-2, Saturday on Warrior Field.

Tallying her fourth goal of the season, Waunch put the Warriors on the board in the 11th minute of the match when she hustled down a ball and curved a shot to the upper left corner of the goal.

Alice Hewes assisted on the Lady Griffins' first goal by sending a pass behind the Warrior defense that put Spere's alone with Corban's junior goalkeeper Karyn Allen.

Warner Pacific Defeats Corban, 4-2

Corban finds itself at 3-4-1 overall, 2-2-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action after the loss.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fernando Karczeski Junior midfielder Fernando Karczeski scored a pair of goals in the final six minutes, but Corban's men's soccer team could not overcome a first half scoring onslaught by the Knights of Warner Pacific and fell, 4-2, Saturday on Warrior Field.

It was a dismal first half for the Warriors as they found themselves down four goals after 28 minutes of play.

The Knights' Luis Galvan initiated the scoring frenzy in the 20th minute after receiving a pass across the goal mouth from Andrew Scott.

No. 8 Washington Completes Oregon Sweep

Oregon State suffered its first Pac-10 loss, now sitting at 1-1, 8-6 overall.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Jill SawatzkyThe Beavers showed sparks early but fell to No. 8 Washington in three games (23-30, 15-30, 20-30) on Saturday evening at Gill Coliseum.

Sophomore Rachel Rourke paced Oregon State hitting .286 with 15 kills, while freshman Jill Sawatzky had 12. Six of Sawatzky’s kills came in game three.

Washington continues to be undefeated with a 13-0 record, 2-0 Pac-10.

San Diego State Explodes on Portland State, 52-17

SDSU QB Kevin O’Connell rolled up 275 yards and four touchdown passes in the first half alone.

(SAN DIEGO) - Brian WhiteTwo fireworks shows took place at Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday night, one during the football game, and one afterward.

San Diego State quarterback Kevin O’Connell ignited the first fireworks show, tossing five touchdown passes and throwing for 443 yards to lead the Aztecs to a 52-17 win.

Viking quarterback Brian White responded by leading the Vikings on an 11-play, 85-yard drive.

Washington State No Match for No. 1 USC

John David Booty passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns.

(LOS ANGELES) - usc sports logoAfter keeping him under wraps for the season's first two games, No. 1 Southern California turned quarterback John David Booty loose Saturday night.

The Trojans made a primary receiver of tight end Fred Davis as well.

Booty completed 28 of 35 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns before coming out early in the fourth quarter, and the Trojans opened their Pac-10 season by beating Washington State 47-14 for their 35th consecutive victory at home.
